Yes, this is truw, but in this case it was not the issue. The valve tips looked absolutly perfect. I think that it was a material issue.

Liz you can get one adjustable pushrod and use that. Just get it perfect and then measure it with a set of calipers.

thats fair Ive just always had the mentality of taking my time and making sure everything is right

My first time doing headers took me a week (3 hours a day), and the second time I had it done in 5 hours. You get better at everything with practice.

                  That's how I work.

Slow when I first do it, to make sure I don't mess up, but the second time it can be done in a snap.

                    • so, i got the spark plugs in today and the oil pan dropped. now i just need to get that ****ing bolt out of the oil pan. gotta measure for pushrods too, then i can do some more assembling also, chris taught me how to gap spark plugs today. that being said, i want to thank everybody who has helped me out with this. not just those who have helped me physically tinker in the car, but those who have taken the time to help explain some things to me. as i have explained before, i come from a house where it wasnt ok for girls to do this kind of stuff and anytime i tried the tools were taken away from me. thanks for not only letting me do stuff, but being awesome voices of encouragement!!! thanks again guys i cannot even express how appreciative i am

                        • Well Liz, now you're part of a family where girls are allowed to work on cars and frankly all the guys find it more attractive when girls work on their cars. We won't take the tools away, we'll hand them over but ask to take pics!
