We might just make her do the work now.

well, i had to drop it to get the timing chain off. and umm, in the process, the bolt thats on the oil pump tube thing, well, that fell. and i was able to get my tiny arm in there to pull it out, but then it slipped, so its waaaaaaaaaaay down there. and in the process, i noticed that it would be a good idea to change the gasket and i may or may not end up doing that depending on what it will require. either way, need to get that bolt out. lol yay for rants...

      • but, if the transmission is coming out anyway, i might as well just unbolt everything.... ..

        • i vote replace the gasket. better be safe than sorry. they're cheap and you'd hate to have to drop it again if the old one started leaking.

            • if your doing the heads and trans too I would have just dropped the engine/trans. They come out the bottom in less than 2 hours.
do you have a extendable magnet?

              • if she had an engine hoist I wouldve definitely preferred doing that method, i already learned that lesson on my own haha.

yes, yes you did however, ive come so far without taking out the engine, id really feel like i was pussing out not finishing it without taking the engine out. so, the hard road it may be, but it can be done and it will be! ugh, way to be stubborn liz... ..

                      • yes, trans removal is a *****. I hated that part on my car more than anything else! For what you are doing just dropping it out honestly would have been much easier, lol. I had the entire driveline out of my car in less than 10 hours and that included farting around with the front bumper for 2, getting jets pizza, removing guage stuff, taking off turbo pipes, etc. But i admire your desire for the more challenging route I have taken the hard route many times and have learned my lesson, haha. Can't wait to hear this puppy purr! Puppy's don't purr though do they? oh whatever, you know what i mean
