Well, the 70 Monte Carlo has the stock 8-track player for now, but I'm going to hide a modern HU in there somewhere, possibly in the glove compartment, maybe on hinges so it flips down from under the dash and I can hide it when we're showing the car, we also don't want to hack up a mint dashboard. I have also been looking at hidden cd changers and stuff that use a modified stock stereo to control it. Looks stock, but the stereo is updated so it has more power, and has an electronic tuner with cd changer controls.

Looks like kenwood and JVC discontinued their shaft radios (they are basicaly the same company now) Phase linear and pyramid both make them (so that is probably what custom autosound is using) they sell for cheap (under $50 just looking quick)

Bragger!!!!! Just kidding. Truely though, I do not have a radio in mine. I used to have an Alpine sitting in the dash, until I installed it into my '06 Charger, work car. I will someday install a radio into the car, but with the windows down and my 420 horse 383, I probably won't be able to hear it at all.

You know, I don't even know! I don't really care for it, though. It's hard to tune because of the angle of the dash and doesn't get loud enough. When driving the Camaro I almost never have the radio on anyway, which is funny since I really like music.

Once I've got some money, I intend to pull both the AM/FM/Cassette and the trunk-mounted (JVC??) CD player and install an original AM radio. I'm going to build a simple AM transmitter and hook it up to my MP3 player and that will be how I transport my tunes.

Instead of investing in a radio, invest in better mufflers to really make that motor sound sweet. Then you won't need the radio!

                    Thats what I got.
                    Pioneer Premier DEH-P590IB
                    Comes with iPod cable.
The cable plays the iPod and CHARGES it, which kicks ass.
about $200 or less shipped off of ebay.

ALL Premiers have 2 year no BS warranty from pioneer premier.

IF your looking at keeping the factory look while still having good sound, there are companies out there that provide a unit that can tap into your oem cd player and produce a very good signal and sound due to equalizers, plus you can hide the unit in the trunk or under the seat. I have an Alpine 9851 cd player, but i miss my pioneer, pioneers have many more levels of adjustment than my alpine does. On a pioneer you can adjust low, mid, and highs, with my alpine low's and high's only, which sucks for your coaxial speakers if your not running an amp to them.

Still have it, but I'm tempted to put it back in the Formy. . . I don't really like the interface with the Touch Screen Panasonic so much. . . That and I have 2 other vehicles that are currently awaiting a stereo install right now. . . Wanna make me an offer I can't refuse? Send me a PM, maybe we can work something out. . .
