Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Buried at the end of an article from The Car Connection that discusses the future of General Motors' rear-wheel-drive expansion (or lack thereof) was an interesting canard. In an effort to lower the General's CAFE rating, GM has supposedly assembled a team to outfit the new Camaro with the automaker's dual-mode hybrid drivetrain. The rational behind outfitting a Camaro with a hybrid system might be sound from a fuel-economy standpoint, but offering a fuel-sipping pony car seems like the antithesis of what a muscle-bound coupe is all about.
The article goes on to say that our new CAFE standards have all but killed GM's planned RWD cars, and because the platform underpinning the Camaro was supposed to be utilized on these other vehicles, its costs can't be kept in check. That's likely going to cause the V8 Camaro's sticker to be higher than anticipated -- possibly encroaching on Corvette territory.
Both the Camaro and the Pontiac G8 will live on, but everything else is likely off the table. Rear-wheel-drive Chevys and Buicks are dead in the water, but Cadillac will soldier on with a RWD vehicle to compete in the ultra-luxury segment.
I wouldn't mind the 8 to 4 cyl mode for highway driving as long as you can control it on or off but other than that, no thanks to hybrids...

When Chevrolet first unveiled its Camaro Concept at the North American International Auto Show a little over two years ago, the industry was a different animal. Consumer demand wasn't as heavily skewed towards "green" vehicles and rear-wheel drive was emerging as the layout of the future.
But a lot has changed since the beginning of 2006 and the 2009 Camaro appears to be dealing the most with the changes. Throughout history, the terms "fuel-efficient" and "muscle car" have been mutually exclusive, but the all-new Camaro might be changing that. According to a report by TheCarConnection.com, General Motors has assembled a special team of engineers to apply the automaker's dual-mode hybrid system to the Camaro. The article failed to mention which powerplant was being coupled to the hybrid system, but because of the added cost of the extra drivetrain, a V8 seems likely.
The article also speculates that the price of V8-powered Camaros will be substantially higher than first predicted. The price hike is due to the fact that GM has scrapped its rear-drive car plans and therefore cannot spread the cost of producing the Zeta platform over several models. The Pontiac G8 and Camaro still have the green light because they are so far along, but GM has decided no produce a rear-wheel drive Chevy Impala or Buick model.
However, Cadillac vehicles will continue to use rear-wheel drive to compete against other premium marques.
prices of everything are going to rise if quality remains the same. I wouldnt expect the v8 model to get near corvette numbers. Heck, the malibu hybrid option is only $800.
I hope no owner of a Camaro ever buys a Prius. From a car that says "look at me" to a car that says " I have no soul and hope to die in a chemical fire"
If people want good gas mileage why are they buying a Camaro in the first place? If you want good MPG get an Aveo, don't ruin my car's reputation.
i dont know if id go that far.
1 year ago i was VERY close to selling my truck and finding a 3.8L 5-speed f-body for my daily driver. My buddy averages 26 city with his and its still a very fun car to drive so why not
