the whole weight issue on ANY car is one of the design theorys of today i disagree with.
you have the government and the general public to thank for that.. not engineers..

heavy cars sell.. they are "safe" for the moron driving.. (everything and everyone else is pretty much screwed)

If it were up to me, we should have some sort of kinetic energy limit.. if you have a car thats light.. you can drive faster cause the crash will have the same amount of energy as a huge SUV going slow. that would make people pick small cars!! and fuel efficiency, pollution, etc.. will be benefitited

Yeah - I was incredibly suprised, but not, to hear the new Charger weighs more than it did in '69.

oh im not blaming it on the engineer, its all in the specs they are given to meet.

and i completely agree with you... like i said in the other thread i dont think safety should be a mandatory option on a car. Being forced to pay safety premiums is an infringement on consumer liberties. I would definitely opt to lose 1000 pounds for better mileage.

          nice post from scott!!

That was a bad angle and picture someone took..its just like what we do with our photoshoots..we take a million pictures..and break it down to like 3 on which angles make the car jump out @ you, and plus..im sure it would look alot better if it was actually painted to the colors they plan to come out with =)
