yeah you need the tool from murrays that looks like a Y its a ***** to pull off theres a bolt in the center of the balancer its pretty tricky to pull the balancer off and the crank snout hub to get the timing chain cover off it sucks.

its not all too hard. you do need a crows foot puller, cheap, 20 bucks at murrays.Originally posted by tastyZL1 View Postyeah and ive had no such luck
after that, back the bolt out most of the way, leave it still in the crank though at least a few turns. install the puller and make sure the center bolt on the puller hits the head of the bolt.
if you try to use the puller directly on the crank snout, wihtout the bolt, you will get nowhere good. it will just push against the 3 pronged deal thats on the crank and you will ruin the tool. ask me how i know.
if you have to use too much force on the puller, stop, something is not right. it is an interferance fit, but its not crazy tight.

ohhhh wow that could be a problem. I think i just used a air chisel to get mine off. But i remember it being harder than i though it was going to be.
