I am sorry if i offend some Camaro guys here but it must be said.



I AM A FIREBIRD GUY TO THE CORE. I will not buy a new Camaro. It is not even a substitute for me. When they killed the Firebird my family and I made a decision to not buy another GM car until the Firebird returns. My family has never purchased any other brand other than GM. This is a sale loss of at least 100 new car sales, $3.4 million if they never bring it back.



To give some backgroud my family is serious about GM products. If you take the middle initals of the men in out immediate family organized from oldest to youngest it spells GMC.

Yes, the GTO is slated to make a return in 09/10 on the Zeta platform.

On a related note, GM has renewed the rights to the Chevelle nameplate.

Will we see it at the '07 Autoshow?

Weren't Chevelle's and GTO's on the same chassis? A-Body?

I think it would be sweet if they made a new Chevelle. I wonder if they plan on changing the Malibu back to RWD?

So because they aren't building a firebird you won't but GM. That is just Crazy. What are you going to by instead a Import?

No, i am still keeping my firebird. An example of what i am taking about is just last week my mother got a new car, instead of a Safari or Astro van she pruchased a Land Rover which is not a GM brand.

She bought a Import! Now that makes sense. Support the foriegn automakers, instead of the big 3. Producing both the firebird and the camaro does not make sense the market is not big enough for both.

4 Door:

And the GM 4-door will likely be the RWD V8 Impala SS.

I've not heard even IF the Chevelle will be released, but just found it interesting that the Chevelle nameplate was renewed at the same time as the GTO.

The Chevelle was going to be the 4 door to go up against the Charger. This has been a rumor for over a year, I remember talking about it way before the NAIAS '06.
