  • My new DD! No ford hate please!

    Hey All!

Technically its not mine yet since I haven't signed the paperwork, but my car came in today and I get to pick it up after work! Pretty excited! I know its a ford.. But I couldn't pass up A-Plan and good incentives on it.

2014 Focus ST fully loaded besides sunroof.. Not as fast as my cobalt was.. But more refined.

    VERY nice choice!

I would probably take one of these over a Cruze RS any day.

Thanks! yea I'm not a huge fan of the Cruze (style-wise), they are decent, but just not a fan.

My father-in-law works for Ford, so I get A-Plan, but actually through my work (Car and Driver) I get X-Plan, so either way I go, get at least a little cash off, if you know ANYONE who works for ford you should be able to get the X-Plan discount pin, otherwise the only other way to get it is being apart of a group that is eligible for it (but that usually will cost a little up front). I had read somewhere that you can join a mustang forum somewhere and pay like $50 or something like that for their membership, and then that qualifies you to get the X-plan discount.. so you have to pay a little up front.. but can still get a killer deal.

Good deal. My friend has had one for about a year now and he loves it. I liked it when I drove it. Definitely wasn't as fast as my Cobalt, but it did move pretty good. A tune and a couple minor parts will really wake this car up. You'll enjoy it a lot.

                The Recaro seats are delicious.

Nice Choice! just surprised you went from a tuner car to a newer tuner car.

My ex's father was successful at Ford and he told me about some of the products they are coming out with. I have to say I like the Focus over the Cruze, Mustang over the Camaro, Fusion over the Malibu.

Yea I was thinking of doing the Ford Racing Tune/Intake on it which seems to wake them up some, and still retain Factory Warranty.. not planning on doing anything crazy to it. super excited though!

Well I didn't get it because of the tuner aspect to tell you the truth, I got it for the value, and I still wanted something that would be fun to drive.. I was originally looking at a BMW 3 series.. but to get the options out of it that would make it worth my while.. it would be well over 10k more than I paid for the focus OTD price.. so I got this instead haha.. still a rad ride.

I would rock the heck out of an ST. But even with A-plan, I didn't feel like going another $25k in debt.

That'll help quite a bit. What is the estimated power gains from that combo?

Yeah, and you don't need to own stock in a hair gel company to drive it.

haha, yea the 3 series is nice, but decided to get something that was a better bang for the buck..

                              this is the kit: http://www.fordracingpartsdirect.com...-9603a-fst.htm

                              • Up to a 90 lb-ft. torque and 48 HP increase on premium fuel

but from what I was reading was that it bumps performance in a more usable part of the power curve, I was talking to a friend who is a ford racing fanatic, said that the catback exhaust that they sell is literally for sound only, helps performance almost none.
