Don't think I haven't thought about it. I look at stuff for them all the time on eBay and my wife looks at me like I have 3 heads. "You don't even have a car right now and you're still modding!?!"

Brian, don't order LEDs man. I work for an LED supplier! Those are power topleds, or something with a similar pitch for the leads. I've replaced thousands of them. What color do you want? I can get them by the hundreds. I just redid a Chrysler 200 in warm white, came out pretty sharp. I work for OSRAM, they are the LED division of Sylvania.

I can also swap them out for you, if necessary. I have all of the ultra cool special tools and stuff. I's a professional and all that.

Really like how the Camaro is coming along, and having someone who is actually modifying a 5th gen may bring me back to this forum.

The graphics look great! only thing I would recommend is that for the side ones instead of solid inserts they make an insert that slow fades to solid and gives it a 3d look like the vent is real. Also the halo HID lighting is a must have for night driving.

this is the first time I have seen that dash LED mod done, I really like it and now want to change mine from the blue to green. Do you have a link to the LED's needed or a DIY page? I have soldered plenty before I am just nervous about disassembling the dash. Thanks!

Mike is the lighting master for sure! Not only does Mike design much of the ambient lighting solutions for the big three, Mike even made many of the accent led lights for our wedding. Not to mention the rotating illuminated pedistal on the first tier of our cake (Which his beautiful and immensely talented wife designed and made herself!). I should have a video somewhere here...

BTW Brian the car looks great. I am definitely a bit envious. But I then I take a look at my stable and feel better. I don't know that I would want to own a 5th gen. I worked on so many and drove them back and forth around Ann Arbor. If I did ever get a 5th gen it would have to be a vert in synergy green with the 2SS/RS package.

Keep up the great work Brian. Maybe one of these days you will apply your creative prowess to the silver firebird in your driveway

Haha you got one of those digital soldering stations didn't ya. But maybe you can explain that one for me - what's the difference between an analog soldering gun and a digital one? I mean if they both heat up... right?

Thanks! You should be on here anyway since we're local, punk. Plus it's a better atmosphere over here than on Camaro5. Not to mention Camaro5's V6 forum is just depressing with all the people talking about their engines failing. Here's the link to the DIY: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=162226 -- you'll need PLCC-2 leds from Oznium.com which is linked in that thread. 8 for the ring I made red and then 19 for the numbers/letters. Don't be afraid to tackle getting the speedo out of the dash - it's amazingly easy working on these cars. The bezel/rings that are in front of the speedometer is literally just clipped into place. Firmly, but gently, pull the ring and it'll pop out. There's a rubber piece that is on the bottom of the ring that then attaches to the top of the steering column, it all pulls out as one piece. Then it's just 4 bolts that hold the cluster in place and you're done.

Accuracy. Some components (including LED's) have temperature ranges. With an analog iron, you plug it in, and it heats up to whatever it heats up to. With a digital, you can adjust it to whatever you want.

Looks great. Didnt one of the "synergy series" Camaro's have that mod from the factory, or was it the XM series ?
