I did not think these vettes were that fast but I guess this proves otherwise.

    vette knows how to shift

That is true as well. But still that Vette runs hard. With an easy 120-150hp advantage you would think God's gift to cars with the almighty KB would have beat the little cam only base model Vette.

A well tuned cam only (with bolt ons) LS3 can put down 500 rwhp without too radical of a cam. Thinking hard about finding a LS3 for my 4th gen.

I knew the heads flow great but I didn't think 500rw cam only damn. I have a 4th gen in my car but I am yet to drive it. I have seen nothing but good things though.

500 rw cam only is strong...does this apply for the new Camaros too?

Does an LS1 vette make more power than an LS1 camaro?

I don't know I never owned a vette I always assumed they had a little less drivedrain loss though.

The vette is rated 4hp higher... I've heard this is due to the exhaust manifolds

                Camaro: 426 hp
                Corvette: 430 hp

The heads on the LS3 have enough flow to support 600hp naturally aspirated WITHOUT porting. A cam in the 240 degree range, a fast intake manifold and a good exhaust will easily get you to 500 rwhp with a good tune.

Wait till you see the heads on the Gen5 motors. The intake ports are freakin incredible. I bet they will flow at least 375fpm from the factory. Which will support 750 crank hp. Which translates to almost 600 rwhp.

i wont use ls3/l92's. thats why i am going to an ls7 port. the exhaust to intake flow % is dumb, and they dont like rpm(mostly due to the plastic intakes). throw a carb and a single plane on and they run great.
flow numbers dont mean much. they flow great due to the huge port. A port that big isnt very efficient. The velocity is really low. those flow numbers on a 215-225 cc port would run much better

I have a friend with a stock LS3 vette, that has a pretty impressive kill list. He walks away from my 12 second camaro like im standing still.

Power to weight. The C6, even in the older LS2 platform doesnt weigh much compared to everything else rolling around. Big HP plus low weight..I dig it.
