this is one of the slower cars around here" half these cars in Texas run 8-9 sec in the 1/4 mile, the other run in the 7's unlike the trailer queens they roll out on the street.

**** no, Xceed is ****ing gay.
It's a huge forum that consists 99% of absolute idiots that don't really know dick about cars except for how to ghetto rig em together and kinda make it work. Followed by even more idiots that tell the original idiots that they do good work.
Plus thief trolls. Plus, 400 horse is like godly on that forum. WTF.
But it does seem like street racing don't belong in MI.......I don't know why you hate on it so much. It happens everywhere but here lol.
And yes, it does consist of a lot of roll racing.
To each his own I guess.

Probably because here in Michigan most of our domestic cars can handle racing from a dig.
Plus like what has been said here previously and/or in other threads, we have so many dragstrips around that it's just not worth it to be completely reckless and irresponsible racing on the street.

yeah except there are ways of being responsible about it... if you notice most time racing is at night (like late late night) when not very many people at all if any are on the road.. people also consider doing burnouts reckless... does it every stop anyone.. no will it ever be completely stopped... no... can u avoid it... yes... congratulations keep doing what your doing and avoiding it..... its make it that much easier for those people who do it to do it safer with less people on the road.Originally posted by meissen View PostProbably because here in Michigan most of our domestic cars can handle racing from a dig.

Can there ever be a thread posted with a race video on this forum where trolls don't come in and preach about how "Street racing is illegal and dangerous and irresponsible..."
If your going to blow up every thread with posts like that why don't we just make any mention of street racing a ban-able offense......

1) Don't appreciate being called a troll on my own god damn website, kthx...Originally posted by c0ncEpT View PostCan there ever be a thread posted with a race video on this forum where trolls don't come in and preach about how "Street racing is illegal and dangerous and irresponsible..."

2) Preaching was only done after Texas boys came in here preaching about how Michigan sucks because we don't street race.
3) Sorry - if people posted about how they think raping girls is cool, I'd post sharing my opinion otherwise. I'm not banning anyone for posting drag racing videos or sharing it. If you don't agree with my [or anyone else's opinions], ignore it and life continues on.Last edited by meissen; October 8th, 2010, 06:06 PM.- Brian Meissen

First off, I never said MI sucks because there's no street racing.
Secondly, I don't understand what the **** this whole domestic vs. import civil war bullshit is about.
Where I come from, if you're fast, you're fast. If you're slow, then you're slow. I do understand that it's motor city and all.
But it totally caught me off guard when I saw the intense amount of narrow mindedness floating around.
Who cares if it's an import or domestic?
There's lots of domestics running around that spin all ****ing day from a dig. And they spin all ****ing day from rolls too. As well as imports.
If you dump money into it (and do it right, ofcourse), then it's gonna be faster.
A car is a car, and a motor is a motor.
They all have pistons, rods, and cam(s).
I really don't get it. "oh it's a domestic, well of course it's gonna be faster than the import......"
Seriously?

You've got to be born and raised in Michigan to understand it. Everyone's lives here in our state are dependent on the big 3 doing well. You have to remember - around here, almost every single person has a family member directly connected to Ford, Chrysler, and GM. Around here, we bleed when GM, Ford, or Chrysler bleeds. I work with a lady who worked for all three and was fired by all three so when she went to buy her next car she bought a Honda Accord. She drove a group of us coworkers to lunch one time across from the Tech Center and parked next to a Dodge pickup truck. When we came out of the restaurant, her car was keyed up and the Dodge truck was gone. Obviously, because I knew her I didn't feel it was right, but the first words she said was "Well, that's what I get for driving a Honda in Michigan." I was flabbergasted but at the same time I couldn't help but agree especially since this was when the GM and Chrysler bailouts were going on. My passionate close-mindedness came about from watching the rest of America's comments during the bailout. If GM or Chrysler would have failed entirely, I can't even fathom the amount of unemployment Michigan would be in. Between the factories, the tech centers, headquarters, all the suppliers, the engineering firms, advertising agencies, the plastic companies, steel companies, ... it's overwhelming to try and think of all the areas affected. And then there's the restaurants and businesses that thrive around the auto company. I mean when GM's Tech Center has the day off, the surrounding restaurants are complete ghost towns... the Kerby's that I eat at every day always asks us if we're coming in on days that the Tech Center is closed because they're trying to decide if it's worth it for them to be open - if they're not sure if it's worth it to be open for ONE day while the Tech Center is closed, can you imagine all the companies that would be closed if they failed entirely?
So yeah - a car is a car and a motor is a motor, but an import is the threat to the way of life to my family as well as everyone I know.
That said - I'll make it more of a point to not preach about drag racing in these threads so everyone will be happy and I'll stop posting in this one.Last edited by meissen; October 8th, 2010, 06:45 PM.- Brian Meissen

The reason you don't see many videos like this from Michigan is we are smarter and more responsible towards other people on the road. We race at the track.sigpic
