I've always hated BMWs.

Very nice ride, Mike...most people love BMWs...

Until they have to fix them...

So I've heard . . . actually the guy that I bought it from had the front brakes done on the day that I bought it (pads + rotors) . . he went to the dealership and paid $900 . . .

Full synthetic on all oil changes and 91+ octane gas, but the good news is you only have to change the oil every 15,000 . . . it has a sensor . . .

what do you want for the stealth

Asking $4000, pretty firm as I don't owe anything on it so I am not in a hurry, but I'm open to reasonable offers. It has only 78K miles, very low for a 19 year old car; and it's in very good shape overall. Some minor cosmetic paint dings on the nose. Interior is in good shape although the leather is a little worn. I rebuilt the suspension in January using factory electronic struts ($1200), also new serpentine belts at the same time as the suspension, and new tires last June so they are in good shape. Also I will replace brake pads before selling, it needs them and I don't believe in selling a car w/o good brakes.

Yeah, be careful on that one...the wife's DD has the oil sensor and I let it go the full range once...just once...

It looked like tar coming out.

So, just to be safe, I change it at 50% now...

I'm beginning to like I6s recently...perhaps it was influenced by one of my brothers who finally got his 240SX together...with I believe a RB25DET, that things sounds amazing.

Good advice. I think every 7,500 is a good idea, even with full synthetic . . . most of my commute is not stop-n-go, but oil is cheap compared to the repairs if you neglect it

An inline 6-cylinder engine is the smoothest and most balanced of any engine family out there, primarily because all the pistons move in pairs (eliminating the need for a balance shaft) and because the front three cylinders are mirror images of the rear three cylinders.

It's as close to a "stress-free" engine that can exist.

Amen! The vertical piston alignment greatly reduces engine side-to-side vibration, making for lower noise and less body shake. Plus, my understanding (and recent experience) is that an I-6 generally puts out higher torque across the whole range, as compared to a V-6 with the same displacement. Translation: It kicks you in the ass more when you step on it!

Not sure which one you're talking about. We traded in my wife's old minivan for a GMC Acadia in September . . . is that what you were remembering? It was my first non-Chrysler product in a decade, so it was sort of a milestone. There was some discussion about buying a gently used 300 SRT-8, instead of the Acadia, for her, but we went with the big family car in the end. More room for the swim & soccer teams.

Yeah, it's a great engine design, probably why BMW is ditching the V8 and going back to an I6 in the M3.

My mom had two Pacificas (an '04 and an '06) and myself and my parents loved those cars greatly. Then we decided to get something with a little cheaper payments and better gas mileage, we got an '08 Avenger...my dad has said numerous times that she won't be getting another Chrysler product...I mean, it runs fine, but god, the interior...is terrible! Though...I do have to say, the interiors for the 2012 Sebring/Avenger look WAAAAAAAAY better
