  • Finally! Pix of the BLU BEE

Got the new Camaro on November 17th, but had to wait to get the right stripes and had to wait to get the ground effects painted, then had to wait to get the Winter Wheels/Tires on. Of course one never has to wait for the weather to cooperate here in Michigan...(HA!)

    Anyway, here they are.

Our Son, Brent can't talk very well. He loves the Transformer's movies and of course love the Camaro in the movies. He know the car/autobot is called "BumbleBee", he can only say "Bee". He calls our Camaro "Bee" also. That's how we came to call it "BLU BEE"

    Happy New Year to all!

    Dave, Sue, Brent Harvey

Nice ride and good pictures. Give us a follow up post after a few weeks of driving it and let us know some more details. I've heard some mixed reviews (handling, comfort, etc.) from owners of the new Camaro.

            Hey Nick,

Thanks very much! I'm still learning how to get pictures on here correctly.
It does look as though I got them all on the Album view OK, but still don't exactly know why some of them are small. I'll keep screwing around with them.

            Happy New Year!

nice color choice, and the ground effects look awesome painted to match the car.....the black ones look cheesy on certain colors.

aquablue is going to be $$$ in the future as a rare color

                    Thanks!!

I really didn't have another color choice seriously. We only knew that it wouldn't be red. Have not had good luck with red cars. We liked CGM and we sort of liked Silver. Yellow and Black was an obvious choice, but I just couldn't get with it. The Orange would have been OK. I just recently saw a white one with orange rally stripes that really struck me too.

I remembered that my foster brother's brother had a '69 Aqua Camaro with white rally stripes and I just loved that car as a kid. As soon as I saw a new one in Aqua Blue Metallic (there aren't many) I was sold.

I have to admit I did not know that ABM was being discontinued when I ordered, but It's pretty cool to know that now.

The stripes were difficult to pick and now that I've got it, I'm 2nd guessing myself just a little about whether I should have gotten white rally stripes. In the meantime I just love the car.

As far as impressions of the car (non-cosmetic) I think it drives great and the performance is awesome. I also have an '02 (all SLP options) Firehawk so I know brute performance. I've owned subarus.

The Camaro is not as tight as the 'Hawk or quite as surefooted as the the subies, but handles just as well in it's own way. The ride is softer and certainly more comfortable for anybody in the back. There is virtually no rear window visibility- I LIKE THE BACK-UP SENSORS!! I haven't tried driving it in the competition mode yet. Will try that in the spring. Where the Firehawk is brutally fast in kind of a "jerks you back in your seat" sort of way, the Camaro is more like a shark-all of sudden you're going a lot faster, a lot quicker than you'd realized.

I am not impressed with the interior. I have always felt that GM skimps on their interior packages. I feel that way about the Firehawk and felt that way about our 2000 escalade. They do a little better job on new caddies and 'vettes. But when you compare the interior of a new Challenger to a new Camaro in terms of tastefullness, detail and quality- I just think the Camaro falls a bit short for a $35k+ plus car.

The trunk opening on the car is ridiculous! Thank God there is a rear seat pass-through.

All in all though- The looks, the nod to the retro-look of the 60s, the power and overall handling, etc.

I'm very, very happy with the car and look forward to driving it every day.

                    Dave

how big are those snow wheels? My buddy tried to find a set of 18s for winter and he found out that people were having problems with the fronts not fitting due to the caliper weights.
