Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
You guys are both wrong. There are sensors in the bumper/core support/fenders and are "open" If an impact is hard enough a small pellet will make contact and complete the circuit. When this happens the bags blow. On newer vehicles there is more involved such as seat sensors and stuff but the rest is the same.
so I wasn't wrong....It does have to do with force exerted on the bumper like I said.
exactly why i dont believe in airbags. They cause far more injuries than the lives they save. Drive a safe vehicle that doesnt need a "supplemental" system and wear your belt.
I was hit head on by a guy doing 45+ when i was doing 45+ in a truck without an airbag and didnt have a bruise on my upper body.
Its a good thing the bags didnt go off. It really pisses me off how stupid deer are within 50 foot of a street, but when you are hunting them are phenominally brilliant. I had one run into the side of my truck when it was stopped. C'mon now!
Glad your ok, damage looks like 3-5K have you heard from insurance company yet.
that sound like a pretty close estimate probably on the higher end of it. I find out the true estimate from the dealership tomorrow. Insurance is all taken care of....although they did not contact the dealer like they should have.
Ouch! Glad you okay man.
Sorry to hear about your fellow class mate. My prayer's are with his family.
I'm more cautious with driving at night now, it seems like its deer hitting season.

Now that's just crazy. You, me and so many others hitting deer. Almost makes you want to just sit home and stay off the roads.
Glad you're OK. I'm surprised too, that your air bags didn't go off. Your damage is much more than on our Trail Blazer.
Ours ended up being just under $1,800 damage. I took it to Berger Chevrolet and they say they may have it done by Friday. I'm driving a new Impala for a rental.
RIP Doug,You will always be remembered
