I'm with you Angie! I don't like the "wanna-be's" and "copy cats" either, but there is nothing that can be done. I'll bet there are people that have added the "Berger Panel" to their Camaros that have no idea where the "Berger Panel" even came from or have any idea about the series of Camaros that Berger/GMMG built. It looked good to them (and it does look good) and wanted that look on their Camaro, too.

It's really no different than all the fake 1st Gen Z28's, Yenko's and such you see at car shows all the time. They are after a certain look, and if you don't have the real thing, Then just do a "copy".

When Gary and I were passing out Berger Chevrolet - All Chevy Show fliers on Sunday at Mendon, we came across a "Yenko" Nova. Now I realize that Yenko built some Nova's called a Yenko Deuce, which had (the old style) LT-1's installed, but this Nova had the Camaro Yenko sYc stripes and a big block installed. It was actually pretty funny.

But, in the end, WE know there are only 36 Hot Rod Magazine Edition Camaros built, and that there is more to them than just a black tail light panel and a hockey stick stripe. And that's good enough for me.

I understand where the Berger/GMMG cars came from and greatly respect their heritage... That is why I've added part of the aesthetic quality to my vehicle. I'm in no way claiming to have repopped a HRME car, nor would I want to... (we discussed my distain for billet in the nose earlier). In the end, my car is a 35th anniversary Z28 with a black sail panel and export lamps and nothing more. However, in all honesty, I think ya'll paid too much for an aesthetic package/weak perf package with goofy upholstery. They are fantastic unique Camaros but in the end, nobody cares but other Camaro people...

Everybody is entitled to an opinion, and a person can do what ever they want to thier car its thiers after all. So lets all play nice and quite complaining. Its not going to solve or change anything.

Patrick, you are not the first, or the last person to add a "Berger Panel" to their Camaro. And of course, most people on MiFbody are going to know about the Berger Camaros, I was not singling you out, it was a general statement about the "Berger Panels" added to Camaros all over the country.

There's no argument here Gary. Not trying to prove anything, either. Just voicing my opinion and observations in a civil and calm discussion.

Who's worked up? Your Berger cars dont have the plaid cloth inlays? Or is that only the Dick Harrell? I guess I've never seen a Hot Rod Ed. in person.

I swear there was a special edition car with seats paying homage to these 69 seats...

For info purposes, here is a link to GMMG:

                                http://www.gmmginc.net/

Unfortunately, there is no photo of the Hot Rod interior. But, it's basically black leather with red leather inserts in the seats and the Hot Rod Magazine Camaro logo embroidered in the head rest.
