Yeah - because with a clone, it just seems easier to stay closer to stock - whereas just having a regular Firebird - you can do whatever the hell with it.

But, that's just my opinion, and it's not my car. I would rather see it restored to what it really is, though.
Its not stock by far. Built 455 motor, rims, couple interior mods, traction bars, subframe connectors, ect. Hell the odometer only reads 70 some thousand miles.
It does have a steel hood though.

I can see your point though. Bryan also had a 67 firebird vert that he built 3 times. The last time he built it, he put it all back to stock. Sometimes there worth more....just not as much fun lol.

Bryans got to strip it down anyway. After blocking and wet sanding it out the color was actually growing on him.
But the body work is really bad. In our opinion anyway.
So we will see what he desides on.
His Buddy just finished a 69 trans am vert clone. And it turned out pretty nice.

Just for grins and giggles, what does the info does the data plate have on it (driver's side firewall)?

Heh...when you said it was steel, that immediately piqued my curiosity...if there was a WS4 on there, you would have hit gold. But to decode what you've got:

ST___69 (Year: 1969)_____22337 (Body Type: Pontiac Firebird Sport Coupe)
LOR (Assembly Plant: Lordstown, OH)__534008 (Fisher Body Unit Number: 534,008)
TR___206 (Trim Color: Midnight Green Vinyl)____59-G (Paint Color: Limelight Green w/dark green vinyl top)
02A (Build Date: 1st week of February 1969)

                  Sweet car.

I'm with Gary on this one!! You see Verdoro Green and Midnight Green, but how often do you see Limelight Green?? By bringing the car back to original it would stand out more than a cloned TA!!

HAHA, that wont happen. How many TA clones you see around???
                                Exactly my point.
Bryans buddy who made the TA clone thats a vert. Hes taking to detroit for a big auction.
Once he sells it. I'll let you know what he gets out of it.
