Some more tear down pictures. Robby is picking up the block/heads/rods from the machine shop on Friday. We are building the engine and maybe even dropping it on over the long weekend.

I wanna play!
I seriously feel like buying an old motor, and rebuilding it this summer, for fun. Anyone got a motor they'd like the give me? One that's not blown to kingdom come, something that I don't have to worry about a ton of machining and what not.Gone but not forgotten: 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

Didn't have my camera because Brenna took it on a trail ride with her. I remembered as I had the bottom end assembled that I have a camera phone. We've all seen the inside of a SBC anyways...

Top end assembled, trans serviced, new trans lines bent, dropped in engine bay, headers installed, fuel pump installed, carb installed, distributor installed, and accessories installed. Camera went dead before I could snap any final pics before I left for the night.

cute dog, What species is he/she?
Why didn't you paint the waterpump orange ??????
Looking good tho. Whats going on with the front bumper?
Be sure to check the rear spindle bearings as they are often serviced wrong or ignored.

Didn't paint the waterpump orange because he didn't want it orange. I told him this was his time to change colors if he wanted and he wanted the waterpump black. He was looking at pictures online and said with an orange waterpump/timing cover it was too much orange.
The front bumper is covered in primer just to stop the paint from flaking (see first page). It's getting painted after the engine swap is done. No sense in painting it before the engine swap just to scratch it.
The rear spindle bearings are getting replaced next time we work on the car. He worked on it more today and got everything taken care of besides fluids, air filter, trans cables hooked up, and plug wires.2005 Yamaha R6

I see, looking good. Keep up the good work.
When you/him do the rear spindles do not drill off the rear rotors.(If they havent' been already) If you do this over time air will get in to caliper. When rotor does not turn true with the spindle then the air gets into the calipers. I think it has to do with caliper design.

damn youg guys have really been moving on this project and its great to see its going fairly well, is this car gonna make an appearance at the M&G or will it be under the knife until its fully done?Doing less with more

It won't even be on the road until after the M&G. The next day I can work on it is next Tuesday and Robby left to go back to MSU a few hours ago. His goal is to drive it to the NASCAR race on the weekend of the 13th-15th but I think that is dumb. I told him with any project there are always small gremlins but he wants to take it on a 500 mile round trip anyways....Originally posted by DETROITMUSCLE View Postdamn youg guys have really been moving on this project and its great to see its going fairly well, is this car gonna make an appearance at the M&G or will it be under the knife until its fully done?2005 Yamaha R6

Well she's running and sounds BAD ASS! My digital camera is gone. I don't know if it was stolen or misplaced but I can't find it. I tore the apartment completely apart and can't find it. My cousin is giving me a new digital camera for helping on the resto when I see him this weekend. I'm going over tomorrow night to get a video of it running and some pics. My new camera takes better pictures than my digital camera anyways! At idle the thing sounds so wicked!2005 Yamaha R6
