The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. I see these a lot in the winter. I would never drive mine in the winter but I have a neighbor that uses his all year round as a daily driver because he has a 68 Stingray in the garage. Idk...personal preference I guess. Like the other guys said it might be her only car to drive. Honestly I am turned on by any female that drives a GTO =
I drive my M6 Trans Am in the winter but its washed at least twice a week and even though its could i warm up the pole barn to 40 and wax it at least once a month

gtos arent going to be worth a million dollars like everyone thinks they are. i had a sweet 06, but it was just a DD, never tried to make it anything special. they are pretty shitty in the snow though. i give her props for trying
Never said they would be worth a million dollars, just said it was a lot sweeter car than many give it credit for. I also, just don't rank it in your typical DD catagory. Again, I am not saying it can't be considered a DD, after all it was built to handle it. I'm just saying that unlike the typical striped up packaged SS GM cars, it is a LSX based rear drive performance car. The aftermarket still has not completely caught up to it and may never offer much. I'm just saying that in years to come as everyone continues to go after Mustangs, new Challengers and new Camaros the GTO will continue to go unnoticed until people re-discover them, and say hey that was a pretty bad car. For the money it is more car than either the typical Mustang, or Charger. I also am not sure, but I don't beleive they offered the car in any scaled down V6 package as with your base Regals, Monte Carlos, Camaros, and Firebirds. Buick GN is a bad car, and I actually have several buddies that own them, but they don't command the money like the GNX. So who knows. Bottom line, is I'm just forcasting a lot stronger demand and or interest for them in good condition years down the road.
Yes sir I most definitely do. I do not see that many on the west side. And I will admit, they do not have the classic American muscle car theme of big scoops, stripes and wings, but it is a hell of a car. I compare it to a mix of a Cavalier and Grand Am on steroids. Have you ever driven one?? Saying that it is just a G6 with a V8 tells me that you have not driven one or the other. Am I a huge GTO fan...no, but I'm just calling them like I see them, and I do respect that car.
I've ridden in one, sure. I still fall back on it's just a G6 with a v8, but again -- that's just my honest opinion. They're nice cars, don't get me wrong, but they just don't hold any value to me.
west michigan... lets put it this way: Nate can vouch for the fact that I REJOICED in my truck on I96 yesterday when i spotted an 05+ mustang GT. you NEVER see v8 mustangs here, everyone buys the base model of everything, its terrible. You see more special edition Priuses here than you do performance packages on any car, other than a GTP grand prix - those are all over.
I also agree that the GTO is alot more car than it is valued at. The interiors of those cars are perfect in my opinion, some of GMs best in the recent years.

Poor GTO. They are now limited editions considering they only made those for 3-4 years.
They were limited for a reason........ No one wanted them.......
I love how people get so pissed about others driving cars in the snow..... Its a car, do you know what cars were made for? To drive. I can understand certain cars, but your run of the mill stock car is supposed to be driven. Maybe you should consider moving south, wont see this probably other than the fact that if your by the ocean, the salt will get to it, or the constant sun will fade your paint/dash....... Shits gunna happen to a car
One final say and then i'll rant off.... Not everyone is in this game to preserve cars for the future to come, some people want to enjoy their cars, therefore drive them. Live for NOW, not tomorrow. I say, if you got it, enjoy it. Unless its on jackstands in a million pieces which is still considered enjoyment to me

when youre smart with a car you'll get a lot more NOW to enjoy it in. Storing a car in the winter doesnt mean you arent using it.... fact is, most of these cars people like nate complain about driving in the winter, are terrible winter cars. Exactly how I feel. I park my car because I have a 2nd but I don't have a problem cutting it up or driving in the rain/snow

I agree. Like I said before, I'm not saying you should never drive them in the winter, if that's all you have, then that's what needs to be done, no big deal. However, don't even try to tell me you're actually "enjoying" your performance car in the dead of winter. I tried it with two different rides, and it wasn't the least bit enjoyable. I actually had fun beating the piss out of my beaters.

You are probably right with your opinion on "Limited Production" (but there were other factors involved) however that has been the case in many cars that are sought after today.
I use to have the same attitude. But here I am 20 years later appreciating a nice '81 Z/28, 454 SS trucks, a Syclone , a Typhoon, a clean original GN or a nice T/A GTA, while remembering friends and co-workers driving them to their death. But it was all they had. Now I see those same people talking about trying to find another, but can't, or wishing they had not been forced to drive all winter. We'll see where cars of today stand in 20 years, and just what's left.
Cars from down south make great restoration projects. Somebody usually enjoyed the heck out of them.

I actually saw 3 today alone. After reading this thread, I made it a point to keep track. Funny part about it was that all three were red. 
357ci LT1, cammed, stalled, and driven.
