I see these a lot in the winter. I would never drive mine in the winter but I have a neighbor that uses his all year round as a daily driver because he has a 68 Stingray in the garage. Idk...personal preference I guess. Like the other guys said it might be her only car to drive. Honestly I am turned on by any female that drives a GTO =

Never said they would be worth a million dollars, just said it was a lot sweeter car than many give it credit for. I also, just don't rank it in your typical DD catagory. Again, I am not saying it can't be considered a DD, after all it was built to handle it. I'm just saying that unlike the typical striped up packaged SS GM cars, it is a LSX based rear drive performance car. The aftermarket still has not completely caught up to it and may never offer much. I'm just saying that in years to come as everyone continues to go after Mustangs, new Challengers and new Camaros the GTO will continue to go unnoticed until people re-discover them, and say hey that was a pretty bad car. For the money it is more car than either the typical Mustang, or Charger. I also am not sure, but I don't beleive they offered the car in any scaled down V6 package as with your base Regals, Monte Carlos, Camaros, and Firebirds. Buick GN is a bad car, and I actually have several buddies that own them, but they don't command the money like the GNX. So who knows. I've ridden in one, sure. I still fall back on it's just a G6 with a v8, but again -- that's just my honest opinion. west michigan... lets put it this way: Nate can vouch for the fact that I REJOICED in my truck on I96 yesterday when i spotted an 05+ mustang GT. you NEVER see v8 mustangs here, everyone buys the base model of everything, its terrible. You see more special edition Priuses here than you do performance packages on any car, other than a GTP grand prix - those are all over.

when youre smart with a car you'll get a lot more NOW to enjoy it in. Storing a car in the winter doesnt mean you arent using it.... fact is, most of these cars people like nate complain about driving in the winter, are terrible winter cars. In other words you are literallly wasting the car. I agree. Like I said before, I'm not saying you should never drive them in the winter, if that's all you have, then that's what needs to be done, no big deal. However, don't even try to tell me you're actually "enjoying" your performance car in the dead of winter. I tried it with two different rides, and it wasn't the least bit enjoyable. I use to have the same attitude. But here I am 20 years later appreciating a nice '81 Z/28, 454 SS trucks, a Syclone , a Typhoon, a clean original GN or a nice T/A GTA, while remembering friends and co-workers driving them to their death. But it was all they had. Now I see those same people talking about trying to find another, but can't, or wishing they had not been forced to drive all winter. We'll see where cars of today stand in 20 years, and just what's left.
Cars from down south make great restoration projects. Somebody usually enjoyed the heck out of them.
