im going by what he tells me. thats the high estimate. Im not 100% sure of the shot size either, might be bigger. the engine is built to take some serious spray i know that.

I agree on the HP numbers. I'm thinking maybe 700 on spray

on an old small block, i don't see that happening....larrys guess seems a little closer. I've seen some crazy setups that don't even make that much. shit, i saw an F2 i think it was BBC latter bar car that made 1100 to the tire, and that's a SHIT TON more motor and power adder then a small block with some hose

he has a dedicated fuel system for nitrous to get a better AFR than with just a nitrous hose going to it. I thought 1170 was more than optimistic myself, but with the ammount of porting and other work done to his heads and intake... i think itll make more than you guys expect.

this car & engine, was mid 12s before the interior and everything was gutted, taller gear ratio, lesser intake, and lesser cam /valvetrain... and ZERO traction.

                          I don't want o disappoint him but I don't think it will.

a 750 carb won't support that hp. those heads probably flow 260-270 @ .600 maybe.(stock ls1 range) If infact it does happen to make 1000 hp a 4 bolt block won't hold. a splayed 2 bolt with billet mains and is filled might .It would need 13.5 compression ,intake and more to make those numbers with great heads. Is he running and o-ringed block with copper gaskets?
1bad86z has a big inch small block with a 1050 dominator on it and spray and it doesn't make that power. It runs 8's though

Larry is right on it.....I was thinking around 800hp on a 300 shot but it will be a ticking time bomb due to the bottom end.

the engine itself without spray will make over 600 crank. with the porting done this winter. and the head work over the summer. the increase in valve size. the cam. the compression ratio. im looking at over 600 N/A on the crank.
the only weak link in my setup honestly is my TH350 trans. and thats more than likely getting totally revamped before spring depending on how much money is left. im expecting a really phat tax return sooooo i might just order up a new one.

the numbers posted here were calculated and they are the highest numbers that can be expected. i know ill see over 840 hp with a 200 shot on the crank. as long as the carb is jetted properly, and there are no problems with my solinoids and the timing is adjusted properly theres so much that plays into it.
As far as the bottom end is concerned its a 4 bolt main yes. no its not splayed i agree its the weakest part of the engine. but this motor doesnt spin higher than 7300 rpm i shift at 7100 and depending on where the power band is at now it might be even lower with the higher compression ratio and head work.
i wont know exactly till i get it on a dyno.

I will be posting up alot more photos as i get more done.

Matt you shoudl stop by sometime. hopefully friday after Xgiving i should have the tubs in place fully and the rear tires mounted for the final time. airbags installed, PHR's re installed, and the rear suspension adjusted. maybe even have it started up by then.
