I’ve been searchingfor the right rims for my 79 since the day I bought it. I like the ET streets Ihave on it, but they just didn’t seem perfect. So while discussing this over acouple of beers with mongo, he mentioned he had an unfinished set of 79Snowflakes in his garage he was planning to refinish and sell. He threw me aprice, well within my budget, so I bought them and requested Black for thepaint color to match the car.
Mongo is a trueartist, the work is done by hand, with multiple grades of sand paper andattention to detail. There are a few imperfections in the rims, but nothingcompared to how they started out, and amazing considering these are original 35year old rims.
The rims as they looked in the beginning:

Kinda dirty, kinda dusty. So Mongo started to work his magic
.2clean rims.jpg
Here they are with the first two a little more cleaned up. Next came sanding. And sanding.
3polished.jpg
Once that was done, the polishing started. Pretty impressive for being aluminum.

Then came a couple of coats of black paint, some clear coat, and a set of center caps. Now I'm a bit biased of course, but those are SEXY. Can't wait to get them on Dusk, ordering a set of white letter 255/60 R15's for them.

Needless to say, I can highly recommend Fred (MONGO) for any help you might need getting your rims redone. Absolutely gorgeous finished product, straightforward deal, then where even a couple of weeks early!
