Which wheel should I get?

Ok so I am hoping to get at minimum a set of wheels and tires for the Z over the winter.

I have it narrowed down to two sets that I really like and their both about the same cost. Each has its own merits and downsides so Im having a real hard time making up my mind, one week I like one set more the next its the other way around. So I was wondering if you guys would tell me what you think so I can make up my mind.

Also whats the WIDEST rim you can fit on the back without any modding? I think its 10.5" but Im not sure

The first set is the Z06 motorsport black power coat set


Things I like:

The little rivits look really cool

I was thinking about re powder coating them body color (metallic green)
which would look cool (IMO)

I like the black with chrome lip because it breaks up the black a bit.

The center caps are nice and big which means I could get blank center caps and then have them laser etched to say "Z28"

Things I dont like:

I have started to see these on other camaros, and while nobody has done any of the custom stuff I was thinking about. It still makes it that much harder to stand out in a crowd.

Im not big on the idea of 9.5" rims in the front. 275's are fine for the rear but a bit big for the front ( all that extra weight BLEH!). Thats not really a problem through, I can find them in the size I want.

The next set are the sportmax's 962 series


Things I like:

The gunmetal color is a little different and I would be more inclined to keep it although body color powder coat could still be an option.

These are the ONLY deep dish rims I know of that will fit my car and I LOVE deep dish rims, I dunno why

I havent seen these on another camaro in the area yet.

These are lightweight rims.

Things I dont like:

They are universal rims, I hate universal's but this design does a real good job of masking that fact by recessing the lug holes a bit and adding those center fins, I cant stand those universal's with a big square of holes just sitting out in the open like " Hi! Im a hole! Look at me! Look! Look! Look!"

I cant do the center cap idea...At least I dont think so...

i like my Z06 rims, but if i were to do it again, i'de get something else, i have the 17x9.5 in the front with a 255 tire..i wish i coulda have got my fronts in 275 but they don't offer the kDW2's in that size...anyways,

as far as the rears, you can fit a 15inch wide rim as long as the backspacing is right but my 18x10.5 rear rims with a 295/35 tire needed some beating in of the inner fender wells (also known as the BFH mod "Big ****ing Hammer") to pound in the clearances

just some food for though, oh and my backspacing is 58mm on my rears.

just an idea of what they look like 17's in front, 18's in the rear, if i did it over again, i'de get the same size all around, the staggered look doesn't look all that great on F-Bodies IMO

The vette wheels always look great,but alot of people do have em,so I think you should go with #2.

thanks....well that picture it is actually nasty lol..that was fron lansing at the "Fall Meet 'n' Greet" when it got rained out...and this week it has been dirty since our garage is being finish drywalled and the camaro and TA are sitting outside during the day while the workers do their thing

you know what might look cool and it something that's pretty new and has not caught on yet, the C6 Zo6 wheels! they would look sweet on an LT1 car because those rims are more "edgy" like the LT1 cars were

is your 30th white with the orange stripes or a different color? If its the white with orange i'd go with the second one, If your car is single colored go with the vette rims.

Well i am not a fan of universal or deep dish rims. So i would say go with the other ones. i think they might look good as body color.

Ooo..I like those they remind me of the original MOMO arrows, No offense matt but after seeing the ZO6's on your car Im not sure if I like them as much, mostly a size issue though, I thought 18's would look a bit bigger ( 17's on the front, I know). that makes for a bit of a problem because I dont want to go any bigger than an 18 then again it seems like they only look smaller in that picture because they look fine in your sig (angle maybe?) . So pending a price search for the C6's I think Im leaning towards the 962's

the black center makes it look a bit smaller, and the fact that it has like a 1" lip, so the fronts are like 16's with a 1" lip and the rears are like 17's with a 1" lip...i think that's what makes them appear so small as well

Amen! if i didn't have to grind the hell out of my brakes to make them fit, i'de probably have a set of 'em for strait line terrorizing
