Managed to get the shock assemblies out with only a little collateral damage - broke the passenger side end link. I am very happy with this car so far - such little corrosion it comes apart like butter (well, except for that damn end link!)
I'll have to order the blisteins immediately though - the nut and end of the shock piston are terribly rusted like everyone experiences. The "triangle" shaped strut mounts both had the upper rubber piece delaminate too. So, I just foresee me needing to cut these things apart. Kind of sad, really - my car is a testament to how poor this design is to trap water. Other than dirt which wipes right off, my decarbons look mint.
