Powder Coating OEM Wheel

I switched to the 98-02 wiper arms and they are way better. Pretty cheap upgrade, but worth it if you ever get caught in the rain.

I'm going to do it soon, they don't make any replacement wipers that work well with the stock arms, so I have to do something. Right now, the arm picks up on the bottom half of the blade at full sweep (vertical position), so the bottom left quarter of my immediate field of view isn't touched by the wiper blade. Ridiculous problem to have, honestly.

Slp was tight with gm... I might guess that they contracted with gm and had an alternate face to the mold that didn't have th gm logo... from there they sent it to a chromer. The factory ws6 wheel was built by UMold and was squeeze cast (nobody does this anymore) and has a lot of special lightener pockets on the back side.

Ok guys, rained stopped and the sun came out so I popped one of the wheels off, I have a pic of what the center section looks like if that matters. I also have part numbers/number stamps on the inside. 9592509 is on one spoke, LM1 on another spoke, 17x9J 50 on another and 97my+ I believe, it may be a lower case t and on the last spoke JPN. I punched 9592509 into google and came up with for sale ads and that is about it. Went to gm parts direct and the number didnt come up which doesn't surprise me they are always changing numbers. So tell me f body gurus what do I have here, reproduction, slp, oem somebody plated?

Yep, that's what the back of my gm ws6 wheels looks like. Same pn and all. LM is actually UM... squished together... its UMolds logo I beleive. Th pn is really a chart number, since they build multiple part numbers off the same mold. Methinks my prior guess was correct then... slp contracted to use the majority of the mold.

Well that is pretty interesting. Glad I posted here instead of just coating them. I would of ended up destroying a kinda rare wheel. When I get the spare cash I will have to take these off, clean them up nice and tuck them away. I will just grab some cruddy ws6's to coat or maybe just an aftermarket wheel.
