Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

I have these wheels on my 95. 17" ws6 wheel I think. Not sure what they are called. Anyway I like them but am tired of polished/chrome look and was thinking about having them powder coated a gun metal gray. Anybody have any pics they can share of these wheels powder coated and maybe share what you paid to have it done. Thanks.

Forgot who I contacted. But believe it was the same company that powdercoated Spencers wheels (sman).. A place in Fenton.. I believe I was told $45/wheel
those look like actual chrome... rather than polished. I think someone spent a lot of money getting them chromed.. it would be a shame to powder coat over chrome... and probably not too successful since chrome is sooo smoooooth.

Yea I honestly am not sure. They fade out quick like polished aluminum does. They do polish up damn nice though. I polished the wheels with a rag and mothers mag and aluminum polish about 4 weeks before that picture. The car has just sat in the yard and they still look good. I might email one of those powder coating guys with a pic and ask what they think about them.

That is very reasonable.

If those are 17"'s, then that is something I have never seen before(chrome 96-00 WS6 wheel), and you would probably be a lot further off to sell those and buy a set that is not in great shape and have them coated.

If they are chrome, and the chrome is not in great shape, you will likely see some chrome flaking probably on brake side of rim and in pilot area....
If they are polished, and have clear coat, the clear will come off if you scrape with a sharp knife.
If they are polished with no clearcoat, they will tarnish easy if u don't have sealer. They will also get water spots quickly if there is no sealer. I have a set of ws6 17" this way and I keep sealer on them... they don't look as shiny as yours... also might be willing to part with these, since I bought a new set...
My guess is your wheels have chrome, with the deep high clarity shine, along with plated center caps. Its hard to say for sure without seeing in person.
Those look great! I would love to see those on the car. I would maybe be interested in talking to the guy that did them. If you have time pm me some details. Sorry to the op, didn't mean to hijack your thread!
Yea they are 17's. I want the exact same ones. I was told they made two ws6 wheels one with a wider spoke and one with a narrow spoke. I am unsure which ones I have but I like what I have. I don't plan on doing anything until midway through winter so maybe I can find a stock set by then for a reasonable price.

The wheels are in excellent shape. One has some minor curb rash but nothing that cannot be fixed. That shine is a month old sitting in the yard and it has been raining. I took a pic after they dried yesterday just for this thread. When they are freshly shined they pretty much sparkle. What do you think having them chromed would cost? If I ever am interested in selling them it would help me determine a price.
