Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Seriously bumps tops???? My opinion on bumpsrops is of its working like it should you should never hit bumpstops.
Were building a mud trick with 16" travel shocks and I hate bump stops but we're running them(what the customer wants) but I would if it was me. Seriously what's Gunna happen if you bend a shock? Not much gotta replace a shock wooptee ****. We pay aekybf 500$ a coilover for our mud trucks we build.
Maid say cut the bumpstops off and never worry again. You'll be fine!! Not like that little ls1 can do much anyways!! Lol
Every application is different, however I'd never run an fbody without some form of a bumpstop (unless I had a straight line only car). If I didnt have a bumpstop on my car I would crush my over the axle exhaust pipe and have the top of my moser 9" TA mount rip through the trans tunnel sheet metal.
Now, that being said..hitting the bumpstops while driving hard is a very bad thing and upsets the car instantly. In my case I need an adjustable shock and probably a 175lbs spring to keep my car off them.
If you really notice it that much than something's wrong. Bump stops isn't something you should play into the equation.
If you hit them alot then change your spring rate and your shock valving. You shouldn't be hitting bumpstops on a regular basis. Spring rates and valving are simple things to change.

x2 mine have been completely removed for 4 years now and I have no problems.
Alot of new cars and trucks ride on the jounce bumpers from the factory. Different style and material but they are used for spring rate. Also some use return springs inside the shocks
