  • Rotorsonline.com Anyone Use?

    Just came across http://rotorsonline.com

    Has anyone used them?

They have Drilled, Cross Drilled and Slotted rotors for 180 bucks for Fbodys, front and rear for 180 for LT1 and 190 for LS1.
Apparently a sponsor over on Ls1Lt1.

Never heard of them, but IMHO, that is just too cheap. Especially for cross-drilled rotors, I would bet that they would crack after not very long on the car. I know a few people on here are using some of the packages off of ebay, but I don't remember the seller they bought from. Here is the site that some friends and I use; they are a little more expensive, but have a lifetime warranty against cracking and warping:

Why do you want drilled rotors?

Why not? For 99% of the FBody population getting slotted or drilled or both rotors are just for appearance more than true braking performance.

Create more dust, shorten pad life, dont stop as well, prone to cracking. But I agree they do look nice.

I just HATE the thought of more dust!

A guy on the ls1lt1 said he has them for 30000 miles and they look brand new. Said he would buy another set. Don't know. Just thought I'd throw it out there about them and ask if anyone used them.

That's probably why I thought the Hawk HPS pads create a ton of dust.

They hardly create any dust on my car with blank rotors.

If you want low dust get ceramic pads.

The amount of dust a vehicle makes is hard to compare car to car. For example kyle you have steel wheels and very little dust is able to escape the holes in the face of the wheel to the outside. The weight of the vehicle, size of brake pad, brake bias, driving style ets comes into play.

Most people with my Tuner are installing front pads at 25-35,000 miles. I am now at 52,000 miles the front rotors are warped but the original pads still have another 20,000 miles or so with my current driving habits.

Weird - I always thought Hawk HPS pads were ceramic but now that I just googled it I'm seeing they're not.

HPS and Ceramic are almost identical in price, the HPS gets a slight nod to stopping power while the Ceramic gets less noise and less dusting.
And I have no clue why anyone is still drilling rotors in 2012 it's been known a long time to be a bad idea. Slotted on the other hand are ok, but i'm still sticking with regular blank rotors.
I've been using these regular cryostop rotors for 3+ years now with no issues. ($68 each)
