Do it once, do it right. Fix the exhaust.
Agreed. I have 3" duals on my car with the same size mufflers, same springs, and i never scrape on anything. Smash those seat buckets up, it doesn't compromise a thing.

if you had an 18" rim there are a few more options for 28" tall radials as the 305/45R18 is/was the tire size for the lightning trucks I believe

my car rides 100 times better with a 28" tall tire. those 295's will probably work damn good. Greg used to cut 1.3 60's and better with some 275/40r17's on that white convertible he had a few years back.

Not to hi jack but whats the widest tire size for.a.17" that will fit in the wheel well w/o any bfh'ing. Getting a set w/tax money and would prefer a fatter fire than my 245's

Question to guys running a 28" tall tire (sorry if this was answered already). If I get a 28" tall tire will I have to hammer in the fenders or anything like that? Currently my car is stock ride height. Or I guess a better question is, how tall of a tire can I go before I have problems with clearance?

you can run a 28" tall tire with out any modifications other than pounding in where your inner fender well part is down by the control arm (mine was already massaged from when I had my old 295 street tires) . I fit 275 DR's (it's a 28" tall tire). You'll need adjustable lower control arms to get the rear centered as it has to be centered pretty much perfectly in the wheel well. but you don't have to roll your quarter at all, wouldn't hurt but not necessary, and my car is lowered a bit. (the front still needs to come down more)

all depends.. some people do have to.. all depends on the rims and their backspacing/offset

I have the same tire as Matt, stock ride height, and adjustable LCAs and mine fit perfect I have the wheel centered and they don't rub at all. The 28X10.5 MT slicks I had did though.
