a set of lowering springs is a good start. They can be had new for $150-300 if you shop around.

You'll need springs, shocks, and depending on how low you go, you may need an adjustable panhard bar and LCA's to bring the suspension geometry back to normal.

At the VERY least, a set of lowering springs and some shocks/struts that are made for lowered f-bodies. Re-valved Bilsteins seem to be a popular choice. I have a set of Eibach Pro-Kit springs on my Firebird, I would recommend against dropping it that much, it makes speed bumps, potholes, and inclined driveways the car's mortal enemy. It looks good, but it's a PITA to drive anywhere with bad roads (i.e. anywhere in Michigan).

        Depends on your budget

You could cut coils for free... but it is NOT RECOMMENDED!! ....sometimes it works ok for the rear, or removing the top isolator and installing heater hose over the top coil - this will lower you 1/2" in the rear

I would never buy Eibach springs, the drop the car too low and sag like crazy in the rear

Good brands to look at for lowering springs...

        Strano
        Vogtland
        BMR

And yes, new shocks are recommended

My Eibachs don't sag in the back, the problems I had came from not replacing the shocks at the same time. . .

i love my Eibachs. they dont sag in the back. this picture is a 3rd gear pull down the highway. i only bottomed out my long tubes once, over a REALLY big speed bump.

Make sure to get some LCA relocation brackets otherwise you could get some nasty wheel hop. I have Eibachs and new shocks, but replacing the LCA, Panhard bar, and bushings really helped everything work together.
