i never noticed any more noise going to a body mount vs a tailshaft mounted. people seem to recommend 3 point sfc's with a body mount for added strength.
that trans cross member mount looks sweet im gonna have to look into thatsigpic

thats what i useOriginally posted by Emulsifide View PostI'm surprised nobody has mentioned the transmission crossmember mount. I have this for my car:
All the benefits of getting the arm off of the tailshaft AND the benefit of a full length torque arm.
TA is a ladder barOriginally posted by kyleozzie View Posti vote get rid of that peice of crap TA and do a mini ladder-bar setup

well my car will be used for handling as well as straight line.
the crossmember mount looks ideal, but im guessing its pricey. The other concern I have is my exhaust being in the way.-Joel

where does a full length body mount connect at? are you guys referring to one using the relocation bracket? I mentioned that in my first post and if thats the case you usually use a full length tailshaft mount T/A on those don't you?Doing less with more

I have a question, The UMI trans mount model says it is set for -2 degrees for optimum traction blah blah blah then notes that the -2 degrees is for stock height vehicles. Does that mean that if I want to lower my cars rear height I need to buy an adjustable model to keep that -2 degree set-up?The Chevy Camaro was built with a single purpose in mind which it executes flawlessly...Going very very fast in a straight line until your hair catches on fire.

I would recommend an adjustable to anyone to begin with, but yes that does mean that you could possibly be off if your lowered.Doing less with more

yea, same way a lowered car needs relocation brackets to maintain proper geometry and direction of forces.-Joel

I am considering the UMI or BMR crossmember mount myself. I replaced the broken trans mount with a poly unit when the gears were done and hate the vibration. Stan at EVI said the crossmember mount is a good fix for that as I can then go back to the factory hydraulic mount. This thread was very timely as I was going to ask the question before I found the thread... Thanks guys!
