I noticed a lot of places on all the wheels where the chrome is peeling. The front ones are the worst. . . All of the spots where the spokes meet the outside of the rim are pretty ragged looking. That's the only reason I would consider painting them, but it'd be a better idea to go with powdercoating or just have them rechromed.
Its a lot harder than you think Nick. Just save up a couple huindred collars and have them rechromed!!! I have seen plenty of car rolling around looking great with some chrome peels. They are used wheels. If you want flawless wheels then you can expect about $500-2000 depending on the Corvette wheels and whether the are OEM or not. Quit the complaining and just enjoy them as they are.
How about stripping and polishing them? Polished wouldn't look bad, would it?
They are Chrome Plated that stuff doesn't just buff off. The would need to media blasted.

I'm not complaining. I know they're used, I expected flaws when I bought them. They are going on the car as is as soon as I find a good deal on some tires that will last me a while, and I'm not going to touch them until they start looking really nasty. At that point, they will be taken to be acid dipped to remove the chrome plating completely, and then I will decide whether I want powdercoating or rechroming. I like the look of the chrome, so I think I want to keep them chrome. How much does it cost to have a set of wheels rechromed? I've never had it done before. . .
Also, I am not complaining about anything. I only posted 2 pics, so I was describing the flaws I found last night so everyone wasn't trying to guess the condition from the crappy pics I took yesterday. . . I love the wheels, I think they'll look great on my car, and hopefully they'll be on soon!

How much? Ballpark estimate. Have you ever had it done? Maybe just powdercoating would be a better deal? These are going to stay as is for at least a couple years, I'm not going to bother with rechroming them or anything for quite a while. They are going on the car, and I'm gonna keep them as clean as possible while I have them. They are really nice looking from a distance. . . lol
Theres a place in toledo that could do them for a couple hundred. Jim had his T-bird hardware rechromed there, they do good work from what I've seen. Even if you paid to have them rechromed you would stilll have gotten a steal. I mean even if the rechrome cost upwards $1000. Thats only $1065 that you've spent to have perfect condition vette wheels. What did all these other guys spend? about $1500-2000?

Good point. . . If I have them rechromed, I could always slap some tires on them and trade them . . . or sell them and buy a new Camaro . . . lol Ben, that guy yesterday had a 3.8 Camaro with all the parts to fix it for about $1500. . . That's a frickin' steal!
