As far as tires go, I'll probably go ahead and hit my dad up for a loan, or I'll wait until after I move to buy the rear tires. Hopefully these wheels will fit without scraping/bumping or anything. Anybody know if they will? I found a little curb rash on one of the rear wheels, and the chrome is peeling on both of the front ones, but I can always break out the spraypaint and go for the black/chrome look. . .

you will be fine with 17s in the front thats what mine are stock, they rub a bit because i have lots of tire in there, but its nothing serious, and of course 18s will be fine out back, I have one question tho, corvette wheels are a direct fit on fbodies?

It honestly depends on the car and the color if they look good. I saw some silver ones on a red Z and they didn't look too bad. I saw some chromes on a white Z and they looked horrible. Maybe they'll look ok on orange. Least they were cheap. Makes up for them being ugly. The wheels on my truck I got for cheap. They're kinda ugly but they were cheap. KMC Bruiser 17x8's.

Found some barely used Goodyear Eagle F1's on EBay for $33 a peice shipped. . . I think I found my tires. . . lol

Those are standard equipment Corvette tires! How can they be shit? They're Z-rated run-flats! What would you suggest that I should get then? I don't really know too much about tires, I just know I'm not gonna buy new ones for $200+ for wheels I only paid $65 for. . . The Eagle F1's are what came for the front wheels, so I wanted something that would match those. Plus, I'm not making serious power, I just want something that will keep the wheels from touching the ground. . . lol

Eagle F1's are OK tires. There's much better out there. I think GM gets a discount from Goodyear for using them which is why they're on so many vehicles. I've only ever had one pair of Goodyears a really liked. The rest were just so-so. If you can get them cheap they'd be OK. Better than some no name POS tire from Korea with no sidewall strength.

Anybody have a suggestion? I'm looking for used, and I'm only getting the 18" rear tires, the fronts are staying. I figure anything on these wider rims will have better traction than the tires on my salad shooters. . . Those are about bald already. . . lol I need traction!!! I found those Eagle F1's on EBay, actually. Anybody have some decent 18" tires lying around they want to sell me? I know somebody must have upgraded tires. . . lol I'll probably just get some cheap tires, realize I want black rims again, and break out my painting supplies. . . lol

well,
you should just sel them to me. i could use them for my dads car. i could give you more than 65 for them. you dont wanna "be like everyone else" i have vette rims already. you should get some electrical tape and wrap them around the rims until you have the sidewall you desire.... i am sure your V6 couldn't spin that much off the 18's anyway. just playin, i couldn't resist.
i would go with some BF G's. you can get the new grand sports pretty cheap, i looked at some 285/35/18's, they were only 204 a tire i beleive. i had BF's TA KD's on my Z28, they hook really good, i had a 2600 stall converter and they gripped very well. good luck and nice buy. let me know when you wanna sell them to pay for some college books or something.
