I have ran them on a 17x9 wheel, and my friend has done the same. I worked at a tire shop for 5 years and always mounted wider tires on narrow rims and never once had one fail on me. mounting a Narrow tire on a wider rims causes problems. But I have never had a problem with a wider tire on a narrow rim. I actually just ordered another set of Nittos for my 17x9 Firehawks.

As everyone has said, Nitto tires are measured narrower. Compare a 315 nitto to a 315 BFG and no matter what anyone says, there is a huge difference.

Nittos you can get away with it, anything else, probably not.

I can vouch for the 315 Nitto Drag Radials to be REALLY small compared to other companies 315's. When I bought my first WS6 a few years ago the car came with some 9.5 rims and had the 315 Drag radials and they didn't look to big.

P.S.: I am not condoning putting 315' on 9.5" rim.

Thanks guys! Thats exactly why I ran the 315 Nitto DR, because everyone has said that they run a little small. They look just right IMO and hook really good. There have been many on LS1tech and other forums that do it all the time with no problems so I figured why the hell not.
