Mine is leaning too!!!! Let me know what you find!!!!

    Serious now,

Check the end links on the stabilizer bars, they might be loose.

If you are replacing the shocks, you can stroke them to see if one lost a gas charge due to a bad seal.

See if one of the jounce bumbers (rubber snubber on rear axle) is missing.

Also check the end play in the bearings by grabbing the tire and shaking it back and forth. It doesn't cause roll, but can cause funny things with steering.

Let me know if I can help.

I've looked over the sway bars and the ends of them and everything seems intact. I've checked the tie rod ends and they are fine, nice and tight. I've had the front up in the air and put a bar/pipe under the wheel and the ball joints seem tight. I've also tried to then see if fI could move the wheel in all directions and again, both sides seem tight. So I'm narrowing it down. I plan to re-check all this again when I do the shocks.

Whether the shocks are it or not they are 7 years old with almost 68k on them. Time to change them. I plan to check each shock as I take it off just to see which one or ones it is. Then I'll let you know how I come out. Thanks for the suggestions and input!!!!

So Sam Strano jumps all over my thread about this on LS1tech and tells me the Monroe Sensatracs I just bought are junk and not good quality. Well the only other option is spending $350 on Billstiens, or more on other top brands that I don't have. Bad enough the Monroe's are going to cost me $220. I don't think it'll be that big of deal.

The Monroes will be solid. You're not circle track or road racing your ride daily. You'll hook just as well in a straight line at your power level and quite a bit above it.

Don't let those deep pockets piss you off, it's lonely up on that pedestel I bet. ..And everyone hates a bench racer

That's how I feel, I just need something that doesn't bounce and has decent damping. I can't see spending over $300 on shocks for a streetcar.

I think for what I do with my car the Monroe's are gonna be fine.

Strano is a cone chaser (a very good one), but makes a living selling parts for F-cars. I work on shocks for a living and believe they are one of the single most importants parts on a suspension, second only to tires. I wouldn't buy off the shelf shocks from a Sears, Murrays or Autozone for my car, and I wouldn't buy no name tires for my car. But if price is a concern, I would invest in what is most important to me. If apperance, or engine is the thing spend the money there. But you have to expect there to be some trade offs when you put generic shocks on your car. It might be worse than it currently is.

My next move for my car is some custom built shocks that I am going to do myself. If I get them where I want them, you can have my DeCarbon shocks. They are to soft for me, but they still work. If you want, I can meet up with you and give your car a once over. I might be able to point you in the right direction.

Thanks. Yeah, I know Strano is a cone chaser, and I respect his opinion but I also had to consider his point of view as well. Someday, I hope to be able to drop $1000 on good shocks, but its just not a priority right now. Thing is I've already bought the Monroe's. I know they aren't the best out there. However, for what I'm going to do and for how it rides and handles now I still think they will be a huge improvement. I just can't spend anymore money on shocks right now and for me they are probably enough, if its not any better than it is now after putting them on, I'll take them back and look at other options for sure. So maybe if they don't work out well I'll have you come look at it. Thanks for the help, I really appreciate the input.

I've got a set of 4 take off DeCarbons from an SS I'll sell you for $125. I had picked them up as spares for when I drop my car but am considering upgrading to something better when I actually get around to it. These were SLP take offs when the car was upgraded to the Bilstein suspension.
