Are the rear springs on a V6 car the same as the LT1 V8 cars?

no. on 98+ V6 rear springs are the same as V8 springs. thats why they sit so high...

LT1 4th gens had the lowest sitting suspension. V6s and LS1s sat higher.

So all you do is slit a piece of garden hose and put it over the top of your spings?

I am picturing doing this in my head, but if you slip a heater hose over the spring, I assume it is then at the top where the spring sits against the body. wouldn't this raise the car not lower the car? could someone clairify this.

No because the springs dont directly contact the chasis. you are REPLACING the spring "puck" with heater hose that is much thinner than the puck.

Yeah, you probably already know this, but the heater hose is just something to keep from getting a "metal-on-metal" sound when the springs are moving.
