  • Heater Hose Mod

Wondering if anyone has done the heater hose mod? I currently have eibach sportlines in the rear and the fender still rubs the tires over bumps even though the fender has been rolled. I need something with a little more height and was thining about puttin the stocks back in there with the hose mod. Just wondering if anyones done it and how they like it. I love the lowered look and dont want to go back to stock height. Side note if anyone has a set of rear lowering springs let me know.

in the rear you take the rubber piece that goes on top of the spring off replacing it with a piece of rubber heater hose...people do it all the time I was just looking for some personal experience

People do it all the time with no problems. I say do it. It will give the car a slightly more raked look which looks badass IMO

It takes 20 mins to swap rear springs so if it doesn't look right to you it should be no big deal to put the Sportline springs back in anyways. But I'm willing to bet your gonna like the look w/ the hose mod.

Regular heater hose should work. Once the weight's on, it's not going anywhere.

I did the heater hose mod on my car and it lowered it 3/4" in the back. I liked it.

So all you do is slit a piece of garden hose and put it over the top of your spings?

yea or heater hose. Garden hose would probably be thinner obviously so could wear out faster? Ive never heard of anyone with problems but its just one of those things i've never wanted to do. I don't like altering this sort stuff from the factory especially with something as funky as puttin a heater hose on the spring lol.

x2. 98+ guys can lower the rear of their cars by getting a set of LT1 rear springs.

Are the rear springs on a V6 car the same as the LT1 V8 cars?
