U shock your driveline A LOT more with a manual car.

6 speed car shocks the axle a TON.
with an auto the axle is preloaded and doesn't hit as hard

slicks do take a little shock out due to the wrinkle wall. I still prefer them over a good drag radial(et street radial or hoosier) on a stick any day

I have always heard that it's very hard to get a radial to hook well with a sick car because it shocks the drive line so much. With a stick car I would run a full slick and with an auto car I would run the radial. But if you can get the radial to hook they will be faster on the big end than a because you can run more pressure in them.

you can get a 6 speed not to shock by feathering the clutch. if you do a 5K dump in a 6 speed on a 10 bolt your gonna kiss it good bye, but if you feather it out youll be ok, plus unless you have a power adder just dumping will bog you out anyway. oh ill also suggest getting a TA cover, they are like 200 dollars and its cheap insurance! and you guys are ass half backwards... a slick shocks the system more because its a direct connection, a drag radial slips a little, and that little bit of slip is what will save a ring and pinion.

drag radials tend to wheel hop. thats kills it too. Vette guys won't even try to run a DR.
as far as slipping the clutch goes. If you have to slip it then you need better parts anyway.
manuals should be launched off the limiter and the throttle shouldn't leave the floor til 10 feet after the finish line
