The wheels I'm picking up soon have 295's in the back. I don't really like the idea of hammering the wheels wells too much but will if I have to. How much did you have to hammer?Originally posted by SS4Matthaha yeah....i was lookin on LS1 tech.com and was check'n the fitment of different wheel sizes and tires and offsets and stuff...someone was like a 295 on a 10.5inch wide rim and bigger will require the BFH mod...i kept lookin in the posts...someone was like "what's the BFH mod...i did a search but found nothing?"...someone else was like "The Big ****ING HAMMER mod" lol yeah well traction is kind of scarce sometimes so i got a lil more meat under my rear now hahahMy Cardomain

You'd need to eat 3 bowls of that import to equal the power found in just 1 bowl of LS1!

just check the offset...if the offset is like less then 54mm or something like that a 295 will fit...mine were a 58mm offset in the rear and that's why i needed to pound a little out....it seems kinda scary but it really isn't. it only needs a little bit not too bad...after i did it...got some of that 3M undercoat and resprayed it...so you really can't even tell. especially once the wheels are on you can't tell at all.....but yeah at first i was like "ut oh" but it's no big deal at all1998 Camaro SS Bullseye Turbo

As far as I can find the rear offset of the c5 wheels is 65mm. I guess I'd need a set of spacers then.Originally posted by SS4Mattjust check the offset...if the offset is like less then 54mm or something like that a 295 will fit...mine were a 58mm offset in the rear and that's why i needed to pound a little out....it seems kinda scary but it really isn't. it only needs a little bit not too bad...after i did it...got some of that 3M undercoat and resprayed it...so you really can't even tell. especially once the wheels are on you can't tell at all.....but yeah at first i was like "ut oh" but it's no big deal at allMy Cardomain

yeah i think so...i don't think spacers are the safest way to go. that's why i decided to give the wheel wells a few good blows with the 8 pounder and call'd it good. also i would suggest an adjustable panhard rod. i have one...and my axle wasn't exactly centered...making less room on one side and more on the other...so i also jacked my car up and did a lil adjusting to that so it's a little more even1998 Camaro SS Bullseye Turbo

I think I'm going to wait and see how they fit before I do anything. I really don't want spacers but if push comes to shove I'll shell out the money for quality spacers.
I've been doing some looking around and it seems some people have trouble whith wheels off a corvette and some don't. I'll see how much if any it rubs and how much I might have to hammer. Thanks for the help.My Cardomain

no problem!....in all honesty i was kinda like "oh shit" at first..but it's not a big deal at all...especially if you re-undercoat it when you're done...that crap hides all the hammer "damage"1998 Camaro SS Bullseye Turbo
