Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
beats me!!! theyre hairline scratches, not deep at all but when the light hits them right they are there. I was thrilled. I think i only did it to 3 or 4 spokes on one wheel, no big deal i guess.
I also just tried our crappy powerwasher on one of them. Results = me soaked, and crappy powerwasher broken. paint = still there
wheels+high speed moving water=always bad, i get so pissed sometimes when im in our car wash trying to clean my wheels, all that ever happens is I get sprayed right back.

Little tip for ya in the future.....respirators not only protect from fumes, but they filter out all smells too! I recentley had the unfortunate experience of having to clean up someone else's puke.......once I put on the respirator it wasn't nearly as bad of a task
Geez...go spend the $20 or so and pick up a disposable 3M respirator!

you should have just got a big metal feeding trough and filled it with that darn stripper, leave your wheel entirely in the stripper lol
that would work beautifully, i was thinking that too.
Well this time I completely DOUSED two of the wheels in this stuff, gobbed in on as thick as i could, and it seems to be lifting the stubborn shit off. Cant wait till im done with this bs.
So...would it be worth $500 for all four wheels to be done with it?
And that's a commercial price...with $200 in tools you can do it yourself...
It would seem that you're taking the long and difficult way around the problem...

I think it is because I take it in and out all the time, the rubber has just stretched out, especially at the bottom where it is really thin. It annoys me more then anything.
I guess you wouldn't make much money as a stripper.
You should use aircraft stripper, it works Great.
You could try one of the following.
1. Media blast wheels, have them powdercoated, then have the wheel machined. This would be the best method IMO but you will spend upwards of $500.
2. Use aircraft stripper to strip the wheel of paint and clear coat, then polish the spokes and paint the rest of the wheel. Then clear the wheel.
This would be cheap because you could do it all yourself. You might have a hard time getting the paint to stick well when you overlap the polished areas.

I am not understanding at all what you are getting at here.
Basically i have $100 in the wheels, $80 in center caps, and $20 in stripping supplies so far = $200. Add paint, and Ill have a set of 35ths for $225 total at most.
The stripper IS working its just taking its damned time.

Im not sure what im going to do next. The stripper might do the trick, it might not. I can always give jons 5 horse pressure washer a try. my 1/2 horse one didnt do squat.
