Well after 2 hours of applying paint stripper, i can tell this is going to be a very slow, painful process. The paint is defintely tough, as well as coming off in layers. However I have made it through to that beautiful machined surface in a few places

Let me know what you use to coat them with. I want to coat the inside of my wheels with a gloss black. They are impossible to keep polished.

And in this war of treason I shall emerge victorious!!!
It turns out that i was making more progress than id thought! the inner surface of the wheel is so VERY closely matched to the color and texture of the paint, i didnt even realize i had been stripping it. This is also looking like an extremely convenient coarse surface for the application of a black paint!

no regrets at all. I have $7 in stripper and its basically doing the work for me. Ive applied about 5 coats so far to get where im at... and more than half the paint is stripped. (even though it doesnt appear that way) The surface of the wheel doesnt get damaged this way either.Originally posted by GETGONE View PostI would have saved myself a lot of work and had them media blasted. Paint stripper is nasty stuff!-Joel
