ive been wearing gloves... with enough exposure you wont have a fingerprint after working with this stuff. it literally polishes your skin smooth lol.

And even if you were to uses a super light media such as walnut or poly it would still eff up the machined surface...aluminum is just to soft to withstand that type of abuse. Chemical stripping is the only way to do it without having to refinish the machined surface.
lol thanks. if i had to do this again, id still be using chemical stripper!

time to go see what kind of progress was made overnight

its going slow. spots of this paint are pretty tough. i went and bought more stripper and im dousing it in the stuff now, its just a matter of time.

I think the paint stripper is starting to get to me too

no, dont have one. the fume isnt strong at all, its just starting to get to me smelling it all day. It actually smells just like PB blaster which i am also using on my panhard rod at the moment... im just tired of smelling this stuff.

im beginning to get a little pissed now. I have about 80% of the paint off on every wheel but the rest isnt budging. I was using a small, soft piece of wood to scrape remains with and discovered it was scratching For some reason the stripper doesnt want to cut this last little bit out

i dont understand how wood could scratch metal... even if it does scuff it should polish up later..

Little tip for ya in the future.....respirators not only protect from fumes, but they filter out all smells too! I recentley had the unfortunate experience of having to clean up someone else's puke.......once I put on the respirator it wasn't nearly as bad of a task

beats me!!! theyre hairline scratches, not deep at all but when the light hits them right they are there. I was thrilled. I think i only did it to 3 or 4 spokes on one wheel, no big deal i guess.

I also just tried our crappy powerwasher on one of them. Results = me soaked, and crappy powerwasher broken. paint = still there
