  • grinding noise

Ok last week or so I took a left corner pretty fast and my right pass tire started making a grinding noise. Car was still sitting level, going straight, and the brakes where fine. I went over a bump and heard a pop noise like something going back into place and the noise stopped. I know it's not much info, but any idea what it might possible be? Hasn't done it again since. I'm hoping to take it to Belle Tire tomorrow to get a free estimate on what might be wrong. Just thought I'd ask here first. Thanks in advance.

check out your Front sway bar. I had a similar sounding problem with my Grand Prix.

If it's a wheel bearing or ball joint. How much does it usually cost to get those replaced?

And for the sway bar, what should I look for?

Sheared metal near either of the connectors to the lower control arm.

Well here's the damage: idler arm, center link, inner and outer tierods, front sway bar links, adjuster sleeves, and u joint. Man I hate cars sometimes. Be over $1k to have Belle Tire do it all, plus a alignment.

Yep sway bar is only being held on by the 2 middle connectors. So that's what the pop noise I heard was. Tie rods are real bad, so car is sitting till I get the money now.

All done, just need to replace the top strut tower bearings or what ever now. Also I don't know much about cars, just learning as I go. Plus not allowed to work on cars in my driveway. Stupid trailer park.
