I would if I had a spraycan of it lol I'm too lazy to get out the spraygun and air hose (compressor is in the basement, no 220v in the garage.) Besides, I would have to spray them while they are on the car, because the morons that put the tires on overtorqued the lugnuts and stripped a couple. I can't even break them loose without stripping them more. Do they even sell spray cans of clearcoat?

Sure they do. Murrays didn't have regular clearcoat in small cans, I bought one for the Truck and SUV, and it worked fine.- Brian Meissen

I don't have a Murrays near me, but if they have it, AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts probably would. If nothing else, I'll wait until I paint the front end. There is a paint store down the road from me that computer-matches paint so it is guaranteed to match perfectly. I am going to get paint from them and fix every flaw in my paintjob, and when I clear that, I could always go through and clear the wheels at the same time. I really only spent like 2 hours doing these wheels today. Clearcoat is coming next, after I get my new stereo and install it. I think my car will be very nice when it is finished. Less than $100 will finish off my in-car computer stand, headunit upgrade, and all of the wiring for that and my guitar. I can't wait!Nick H.

Dude those look so much better. Good Job. Hey I should come over with my Dremel tool and we'll take the black off the higher areas for accents. The straight black is just not quite right yet. Once we have that done we'll clearcoat the crap out of them and make em shine! Let me know man.

I already used my dremel tool with the polishing kit I got from sears, and I didn't like the look, so I painted them all black. I'll figure something out. Maybe some orange highlights?Nick H.

ya see if you can match the body orange now... paint the center of the star orange or maybe do the outside... im thinking the center would be easier to do... what kinda rim paint did you use that looks liek a flat black you should make it gloss when you add the orange...Originally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice. lol and go on ebay and get some center caps and lug nut covers... makes the rim look alot better.. i hated mine with out it... im still shy liek 6 lug nut caps and the dealership wants to much for them... so im just gonna have to hunt the junkyards...Originally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice. I found a paint shop that computer-matches paint and guarantees their paint, so I'm gonna go to them to mix my paint. I was thinking of doing something like what you mentioned, but I don't know yet.Nick H.

well if you do that and get the black caps to go with it maybe try to find a orange camaro center sticker for the center cap that would look sweet... i know a few places that sell them... took me a while to hunt them down for mine but be ready to pay a bit i think all 4 center caps with the silver bird was like 38 bucks shipped... thats a bit considering its just a plastic piece... and cost liek 20 cents to make... but have to do what you have to do...Originally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice. I think I saw some of the sticker thingys on EBay, and the company that sells them also has orange ones. I will probably get the center caps from EBay or a junkyard.Nick H.

here's a picture of my boss's Stock H2 rims...he had them painted at a really high end shop called "Auto-Metrics" we do alot of work for them so he got it hooked up.... i took a few pics....his rims he's got now are pretty cool. he's gonna get some 20's with big meaty tires in the spring most likely...he's been talkin about it.
Anyways this is what i thought you were gonna do when you said black and polished...
wow i had to shrink those pics so much they came out all "nintendo" blocky lookin ... weird? well you get the point thoughLast edited by SS4Matt; January 29th, 2006, 06:24 PM.1998 Camaro SS Bullseye Turbo

Those are awesome! I couldn't get the polished part to look good. I polished them for about a half hour, but they still looked black because of the reflection from the black paint onto the polished parts. I might paint that part of the rims orange, that would definitely add some contrast.Nick H.
