Do you know what psi they run their kit at? I think I read it was 135 on / 150 off.
I'm using a 3 gallon tank at 200psi, which is essentially the same capacity as a 4 gallon at 150psi. Running dual 380 compressors though. Our biggest "whoops" was running 1/2" lines...I didn't think about vehicle weight. I figured a 1960 Impala @ 17 1/2' long would weigh more than 3500 lbs
Without flow control valves and dump valves the car acts like it has hydraulics

Yes 135 on /150 off is my understanding. This kit is only 1/4" lines. Had the options to upgrade to 3/8" but figured the bigger tank and dual compressors should be good enough. The box is sitting at home now. Can't wait to open it up and post some pics.sigpic

Came home last night to a very large box....

Everything was packaged nicely in all this black foam wrapping stuff. Lots of it. Hardly any bubble wrap unfortunately.
Got it all out and made sure everything was there.

Everything looked good except the tank. Didn't look like they cleaned it up before they packaged it up. There's stains and what looks like white sticky stuff on it. I guess that's what you get for only $1200...
No matter, at least it didn't come with that huge "Ridetech" sticker on it like in the pics. Very happy about that. I have an issue with free advertising especially with the amount of money i spent on this. I'm debating if I should paint it red like a big fire extinguisher. LOL
At some point today I'm going to take it to Jessica and loosely test fit the tank.Last edited by MeenZ28; February 14th, 2015, 11:43 AM.sigpic

The first of many slight issues I'm going to run into has arose. The tank itself fits (tight) but it fits. However the mounting brackets do not. The measurements from Ridetech's website didn't show that the brackets extend past the tank by a good inch on either side. If I had known that i may not have gone with the 5lb tank.... maybe. So if it's going to be installed there, I'm going to have to do some creative engineering with the mounting brackets.... yay. Wonder if installing it upside down would work... but that would pose an issue with the drain port. Argh.

I used to keep my Super Chevys and Camaro Performers collection in the trunk. They are being moved now.
No i can make this work. I think im just going to have to trim the feet of the brackets back. I can take enough away and still get a bolt head to hold it down securely. Im not going to have to worry about it moving from side to side thats for sure.sigpic

I was right. I cut the brackets back and drilled new holes. Tank fits and doesnt look too bad. No pics since i decided to plastidip the tank. I didnt like the dirty silver, red is too much, and i had a left over can of dip so.... Well there you go.sigpic

Here's the newly dipped tank and modified the mounting brackets.

I'm going to mount the tank later today then I can start the plumbing. Still have to figure out where and how to mount the valve block and compressors.
In the mean time I've been looking at the control panel and in reference to a statement I made earlier about my hatred of free advertising, I've elected to 86 the gauge panel they gave me...

And use the tripple gauge mount I had sitting in my garage since my Epic days...

Gives me an excuse to buy a third gauge for something down the road. As far as the switches go I'll have to figure out where to mount those. I'm debating between the center console or a-piller... I'll wait till I drive the car on Monday and see what "feels" best and then decide.sigpic

Late last night I mounted the tank in the trunk. Nice and secure. Now gotta figure out where the compressors and valve block will go. I had originally wanted to mount them above the tank for ease but I took my measurements and that just won't work. Due to the height of the tank plus the height of the compressors the privacy cover will hit the compressors and not allow it to close all the way. So damn. The next logical place is in the well where the spare tire used to be. I'm going to open that up at lunch time today and see what I will need to mount them there. Probably going to have to fabricate some sort of shelf for them to sit higher than the tank. We'll see.sigpic

Yikes, what a mess down there....

Old brittle falling apart Dynamat, one end of a red power cable and a ground wire to nowhere. I knew the previous owner had a system in the car before me but must have literally yanked it all out at some point. No mater, i think i can make this work. If the ground wire is good, I can ground the compressors, the valve block, and the pressure switch to that and be done. I can make a shelf in the recess from some MDF or plywood that I have I laying around at home and that will be where I mount it all. I guess my goal tonight will be to make a cardboard template of the space.Last edited by MeenZ28; February 16th, 2015, 04:52 PM.sigpic
