Ok, so I will go into a little detail on everything that's been going on.. also I should warn you.. I love to make lists, especially pros/cons lists.. I have a LOT of time to do research and study stuff I want, so I am usually very torn on certain directions I want to go with my projects. I joined this site forever ago because I had bought a 1983 Camaro sport coupe back in 2006. the car was a real project, I put a lot of time and effort into the car, but didn't know what I was doing, and stretched myself too thin on doing stuff.. I attempted to do the whole car all at once.. the interior, exterior, performance, etc all at the same time, not the brightest move for a kid making minimum wage. The car got put on the back burner for years, I would drive it occasionally.. Start it up and listen to the engine I put all the effort into.. and that was about it. I got to a point where I fought a lot with myself deciding what I should do with the car.. and ultimately it came down to 3 options for me.. 1) just keep letting it sit there, like it has for years. 2) start working on it again (which I had a very long list of stuff I wanted to do) 3) pull the stuff off/out of the car that I can use on my next project, and buy something that I had more interest in.
I fought with myself over options 2 and 3 for a long time.. that is until an offer came up, one that I couldn't refuse, too good to pass up really.. and it made my decision for me. so I pulled my engine/trans out of the Camaro, got all the parts together for it that needed to go with it, put it up for sale and sold it. it was actually quite sad when I sold it, I've had that car for almost a third of my life haha. I told myself at one point that I would never get rid of it.. but I just kept fighting with myself on the fact that I would much rather see it go to someone that will actually work on it, than it just sit in my garage and rot away for me not doing anything to it.
So now onto the actual project at hand! I am picking my new car up on the 26th of October (2014). I am still not going to go into too much detail on it yet (I know, the suspense must be killing you haha).. I will tell you a few things about it.. I'm staying Third Gen.. and it's white.. the rest you will have to wait to find out about haha!
Future plans (at this moment) will consist of a 383 Stroker build and a T-56 swap.. I probably shouldn't mention it.. because it is only a possibility.. but there IS a slight possibility that I can get my hands on a mild 454 street engine for a good price.. but we will see about that!
I will keep you all updated with the progress as soon as I get more info/pics for you guys!
