I know, I know, "What the f*** is a BMW doing on an F-Body forum?". The fact is that this forum is full of some awesome people, which makes me stay here and lurk, because I am not working on my F-Body. So, instead, I figured I would just put up a project thread for the car that I am currently working on while I go to school. I also know we have a few people on the forums that are into the German cars as well as the F-Bodys. So here is the rundown

    1987 BMW 325iS (e30)
    2.5L I6 M20B25 (sounds like a tractor)
    5-Speed Getrag 260
250K-ish miles (odo broken so actual is unknown)
    California car
Previous owner stripped it down for Auto-X
    Cost: $1,800

The car has been sitting for quite some time, so general cleaning and maintenance are going to be the general trends for a while. Here are the short term action items:
    -New battery
    -New slave cylinder
    -Take off retarded stickers
    -Primer the hood
    -Get all interior electronics operational
    -Replace all missing interior items

Once I get the short list completed, the car is getting a Megasquirt MS3x and Coil on plug ignition, and then I will tinker with that for a while before a 00005681.gif

On to the pictures (these are also for my reference, thats why there are so many)

I like the look of the car as whole.

Please fill me in why it was worth $1800?
Being a CA car is a plus but with the mileage, mechanical problems, missing content, and cosmetic flaws I think $1,800 is a lot.

The mechanical problem is a $16 part and an hours worth of work.
This is not high mileage for an I6 bimmer.
The main factors are it's an iS manual coupe, and I have known every owner that has had the car since '07 and what has been done to it.
Here is the nearest one I could find, which is a much less desirable economy model missing a lot of the expensive exterior pieces: http://kalamazoo.craigslist.org/cto/4319261068.html
Nearest iS coupe manual, which has retard-fender syndrome: http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/cto/4321308777.html
        some others

        http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/4344445453.html

It may not have been a "deal of the century" car, but I got a pretty fair deal.

Hey. Finish your trans am! All that needs is an engine!

I can see where these cars can be nice, but damn you got some work ahead of you.

Not happening. I seriously want to punch anybody that says it needs "stance". No, **** you, go back to middle school.

It's still getting parts here or there, but I think I am going to save the majority of that project until after college.

The thought has crossed my mind once or twice, but I have really wanted a straight 6 vehicle for a while now. I just like the different sound.

Also, I am selling my cobalt and dumping the money into this. I can not stand the mentality around those cars any more.

Already own two german cars in addition to this, so I do know what I am getting myself into. I find it funny that everyone rags on european part prices, yet it doesn't cost anymore for me to work on my german cars than my US ones.
