15 psi is pretty hefty for stock bottom end, is it not? Or is that safe number with E85? 2005+ engine?
Ring gaps opened up?
Friend of mine wants me to build a turbo LSx setup for his jet boat, pretty hesitant as I don't know everything about pressurizing these engines. I have a studded 5.3 (2004 year I think) in the garage that was meant to be a boost build but now it will be a N/A setup going into a 55 Nomad with an Art Morrison frame.

I took this as the resukts Pffff. 840rwhp 5.3 with ls6 camOriginally posted by 1BADAIR View Postlol what kind of power? no idea what it makes. boost controller didnt work and IAT was thru the roof. So only 15lbs
Mike you can run more boost but your always going to sacrifice something, usually its longevity but when your dealing with a $500 junkyard build most guys will get aggressive and try to put up some serious numbers. Its really all in the tune. Opening ring gap certainly does not hurt and if you plan to make 700+ I would recommend it simply to open the tuning window as ringland failures are very common.Doing less with more
