Not to speak for Kolin but it sounds like hes making sure all his ducks are in a row before he releases this information so there are no false accusations.

Well he works at a shop that supplies engines for sponsored racing circuits. Some of the components used may be under wraps for competitive reasons or it may have been a prototype or early development piece, could be plenty of reasons. Or what Jeff said, since that would certainly be their responsibility as well.Originally posted by TylerT/AZ28 View Postwhat was the random fulty part? if it was no ones fault why cant anyone say i dont quite understand.Last edited by JoeliusZ28; June 20th, 2013, 07:20 AM.-Joel

Hey guys, the rebuild is making some progress. I'll post more pics shortly. As far as what went wrong, I'm sorry but I have to avoid the subject all together until further notice. Again it wasn't due to what anyone or myself did during assembling, testing or tuning and thats all I can and will say for now. Sorry gang

I'll tell you what broke that motor... it was that damn Sasquatch.
Glad you're making progress! Once it's broken in, we'll have to line up and have some fun!sigpic

Just blame c0ncEpT. That's what I do every time something on my car isn't working, or doesn't get done. Makes it easy that wayOriginally posted by DRYSUMP View PostHey guys, the rebuild is making some progress. I'll post more pics shortly. I'm looking forward to it! I'd also be up for taking the cars out to Gingerman or Waterford Hills sometime. Here are the latest progress pics... pretty much looks like the same pics a few months agoOriginally posted by konigandy6 View PostI'll tell you what broke that motor... it was that damn Sasquatch.

Everything except for the pistons (going to fly-cut them a little more than the existing pockets) has been dissembled, checked, measured, and final washed for re-assembly. As of right now I have my piston squirters, cam, crank, main bearings and caps installed. Connecting rods have been remeasured and bearings installed again. The time it takes to measure and size everything is what takes the longest but for obvious reasons it is critical that it be done. But as I found out first hand, and as the rest of you have seen, even if you take your time and measure everything, things still go wrong outside of your control.

If you can't say so, I understand, but what all was salvageable and what got trashed? (other than the obvious in the pics)
Sorry to hear about the set back, we all have them
Some worse than others. I remember how pissed I was when I popped my brand new YFZ motor...if you break it down, total run time vs cost to build - it cost me about $4 per minute to ride it not including fuel
