  • [Project] Project "Because Streetcar"

    Hey guys...

You all know my last build... 3.5years of work.. "Finished" it a couple months ago, and was almost immediately bored... :/
So... Im parting it out. 454 Shortblock is already sold, as well as the headers. Just have to pull it out today. Sad day.
I wanted this next build to be an extraneous amounts of fab work... ie: front half/backhalf, 4 link, etc.. It will end up similiar
to a 10.5 outlaw build, but without a 25.3 cage and with the ability to roadtrip. End goal for the car is a nice cruiser with
more power than I can ever need/use, so I won't get bored.. I'd like to try mile racing, and I sure wouldn't cry if I could
    get an 8sec slip.

    Powertrain:

Right now, Im think a 427 with a 98mm turbo, would be good for ~1500WHP

    Drivetrain:

Undecided, I like driving a manual (Level VII T-56 Magnum) or I was considering a RMVB TH400... of course coupled to a FAB9

    Chassis:

I decided with how cut up this next car would get, that it would be stupid to use my current Trans Am... I thought a lot about
switching to an FD RX7 or mustang, just to try something different, but I like the LS T/A... So, Im going to put a stock LS1 in
my Hardtop T/A and sell it.. and then today, I bought a convertible Trans Am. It used to be Ronnie Dukes, built by W2W/Hardcore

Also, I plan on deleting the convertible top, and maybe run the RK sport tonneau or something similar, and then building a custom
    removable hardtop.

wow! Well done sir well done. I'm surprised your done with the 454 tho, how much power did that put down? I follow your posts on FB so I hoped you would post it up here too. I'll be tuning in! What's your estimated time frame for this?

Thank you. Idk, I never had it dynoed, should've been around 600w . It was a fun car, lots of torque around town, constantly shredding the tires.. It turned out exactly how I wanted. I would love to keep it as a daily... but Im just a poor college kid, and I really want to challenge myself, by building a big boy car... So I have to part it out, to afford this next build.

I really dont know how long it'll take... I'd LOVE to say I think itll be done for next season.. but LOL... We'll see, Im going to start by hanging a rearend, so that it is a real roller.. and then I am going to cut off the front frame rails and get to work.

I can guarantee you that this car will not see snow, but it will have a hitch and pull a trailer regularly.

Anyway, I am less proud of my last build than I hoped... It just seemed like too much bolt on parts, so I am heading a bit further in the "custom" direction this time.

Will be interesting to see how this turns out. I'm surprised you were bored with the 454 build.... yet I'm content with my LT1...
