    Day 1 progress

Why cut a 8pt rollcage down to a 6pt roll cage? "Because Streetcar"

I may end up going back to a full cage, but the halo was not how I would put it in. Also, Ive never messed with chromoly before, holy shit is that light. awesome!

So today I cut the cage down and started cutting a few more brackets out that I wont be using... Some of the metal work is a little to "race car" so Im going to clean it up a bit, while cutting weight. Most of the day I spent running in circles... This is a big project to jump into the middle of... So much that I want to do...

        Clearly...

They had all ready been cutout, along with the passenger front down bar. Thanks for the super helpful reply, I had a big trip planned to go to the track tomorrow, but looks like I can save myself some time...

          Thanks guys.

Calling it a night... 5:30AM (Got a little carried away) (Still Day 1)

          Disassembly is complete..

Next: Ill work on figuring out measurements for my FAB9 and get the windshield out and start cutting out the cowl/firewall/trans tunnel/strut towers/etc... and see where I stop... Should be fun.. Im going to do my best to remove all unnecessary metal, either by cutting out entire brackets, or hole saw where optional..

I plan to gusset the cage to the chassis, so that should bring some strength back to it.

Well I decided I didn't like the tubs that are in the car, so I just bought new 40" tubs.

The tubs that are in it are really only mini-tubs... so I am going to do a full tub... droping a lot more weight in the process... I am going to bring the tubs up ~6 inches, so I can fit a big tire without having the car in 4x4 mode...

Got a tire off a top fuel dragster for mockup, while I wait for my wheels and tires.

uninflated it is roughly the same size as my tires inflated, so it works out well.

These pictures are taken at full compression.

Don't know why, that made me chuckle a little but. Maybe its sheer awesomeness?

This is one of the most ambitions projects I have seen in a while, definitely subscribing. You have this on tech also?

Thought the same....kind of "cartoonish"' lol. Used to sketch cars with tires like that....

                            Looks good Trev.....

No problem at all. It was nice meeting you guys. That car will be burning off it's own set soon enough.
