Wow, that is pretty terrible. Be thankful that the deer only did that much damage I guess. The front ends of these are so low, your lucky you didn't take it in the windshield. Very cool project btw! Hopefully the damage wont sidetrack the progress too much.

Wow - without that headlight on the passenger side you have tons of room to take your battery out!
Sorry to hear about the deer, Matt.

I also have to weigh in on the side of keeping the original LT1 front. I think it has a great look. I like where you are going with the project. You originally said possible a paint job next year - will you do it or have it done and if you have it done who will you use to do it. I am watching your project closely to see what I might encounter if I bought that Firehawk with 150K on it. How many miles did yours have on it when you got it?

I got my bird with 101k and there are now 107k. It will need suspension components in the future and also has a rebuilt Trans, and the engine was gone through. To what extent I don't know.
I have a personal friend that will be doing all the work. His dad and him own a shop in Warren and they do great work.
And no the deer somehow took off, guaranteed with at least a broken leg or two. Didn't even make it worth my while.

That's really Ironic, when I was in the process of getting my car resprayed I knew I wanted a dark charcoal because its such a beautiful color, but didn't have the money lol, but I thought about getting Shelby blue grand sport stripes.Originally posted by OneMeanFormula View PostYeah I love these seats, but they won't be in this car forever. Eventually I will do the front end conversion and I'm going to paint the whole car the Zr1 gray, and all the details will be bright blue.

This is a long term goal, but I'm expecting probably around $2500 for the color change, and I'll have all of the bird decals, calipers, etc. painted electric blue. For now though I'm going to get my current paint in good shape and fix my one rust spot in front of the drivers tire.
Even your black would be sweet with the blue stripes!! I just never again want a black car. Way too much maintenance. I owned a 2000 Trans Am in black and here was my last black car.

I'll have to check it out tonight when I get off work.
I went way too balls to the walls with that build, over $50k into it with the price of the car and was a prototype tester for a couple companies. With only 40k on it I was running into problems every week. That was back when I had disposable income though before marriage and a kid on the way.
